I can't even recall how much of the movies he was in. I don't know why that I feel as if he wasn't in it much..

He was in the 2nd & 3rd movies - he had quite a bit of role in the 3rd one.

I would say that he was in 1.5 hours out of the 9-hour trilogy

But even in the original book he had an important role, as he kept the dwarves locked up for weeks in the dungeon

*we just didn't have a name for him...

He had a significant morale role in the 3rd one, and he was impressive as Thranduil.
