No not really.

 In the books at least we know that Frodo has met Balin in the past... but Moria becomes said after one sees the Hobnit movies... or checkes out ROP on how Moria looked like in it's glory... __________________

true... that scene where Gimli rushes into the chamber where Balin was killed is touching, and just sad...
... but I loved Balin in the Hobbit trilogy - he was among the top 3 dwarves for me __________________
