I love that they while they understand each other a little bit better now and they've built sort of this friendship they're still themselves, you know? The haven't just drastically changed, the jabs and comments are still there, they still have their disagreements, Lucifer still calls Dan a douche.

 And to me that shows part of their character development. Dan has matured and grown and accepted that his relationship with Chloe is over and Lucifer has realized that while yes Dan does have his flaws and has hurt Chloe in the past he's not a bad guy and he does love Chloe and Trixie.__________________

It did. It could have easily felt rushed and messy but it didn't, and that's I think in part because they took advantage of what happened last season and built upon that.
