Cartoon!Lucifer and Chloe were so much fun

I love the throwback to the pilot, I didn't think I would end up feeling sorry for Jimmy Barnes but for an episode that had something as silly as Lucifer and Chloe in a cartoon world it was surprisingly sad.

The ending with the daughter reveal was shocking

Wonder if Chloe knows that Dan is down there they are just about to go down but wanted to pop over here ... glad that Chloe knew that Dan was in Hell

AMAZING EPISODE

Is Linda writing a book or something about her journey as a therapist for the Devil? Curious. Loved how she bought up the very first case when he met Chloe, thus inadvertently giving Lucifer the idea to help someone he actually hates, like Jimmy Barnes, from that case.

Loved that Ella took the frog back with her and thinks it could be part of something big.

I like how Chloe initially suggested to Lucifer that maybe she should give back Amenadiel's necklace, maybe she's starting to realise how much of a hold it's having over her with it's immense power. But of course Lucifer was too distracted getting dressed for going to Hell to help Jimmy. Glad how Lucifer initially didn't want Chloe to go to Hell with him, as it's dangerous down there and he didn't know if live mortals could go and return. But as she had the necklace she should be able to go and return due to her invulnerability. Loved how Lucifer carried her down to Hell. So cute.

When I saw the trailer and saw that there was going to be an episode with animation in it, I wasn't expecting how clever they incorporated how Lucifer and Chloe became animated characters, by going through the door of Jimmy's Hell loop which was a cartoon. And OMG it was bloody genius! The whole animated sections were absolutely freaking hilarious and SO much fun. It was weird just hearing Tom and Lauren voicing their characters. The whole thing was just absolute genius.

After they manage to break Jimmy's cartoon loop and return to their live action selves, I wasn't expecting this episode to turn out so sad, to really find out how and why Jimmy turned out and did the nasty things he did. When they find his childhood loop where his musician mother leaves him to watch cartoons to never return, that was sooo sad. Like Lucifer said, it may not excuse the things he had done as an adult, but it made him understand him better. And he was able to give Jimmy a better Hell loop by controlling the events and returning his mother. That was nice. I liked that we got a bit of background story with the first criminal of the first episode. It was really interesting and re-watching that episode will give it so much more depth to it.

So Rory takes Dan out of Hell. I love how naive Dan is at first, thinking that now he's out of Hell he's alive again. But nope, he's a ghost. I love how he tried to warn Lucifer about Rory but bad timing arriving at the penthouse just after Lucifer and Chloe leave for Hell. Rory looks like she is a force to be reckoned with! She has blades within her wings? Interesting.

Amenadiel was adorable on his first day on the job. I like how Maze wants to make fun of him at first and when Ella says that his commanding officer is really tough on new officers. But I love how it turns out that his officer was testing him on what it means to be a cop and isn't so bad after all. Loved the scene with Maze and Amendiel at the end. Aww she said he's her friend.

That ending though! Rory hiding in Dan's ghost form when Lucifer arrives back at the penthouse and launching her blades at him! And then she says she's his daughter?! Wait, what?!?! literally my reaction for like 5 minutes lol. Then I was like how? But then I suppose it's not entirely impossible, given the huge line of women he slept with before he fell in love with Chloe. There's no way she's Chloe's, Chloe hasn't been pregnant yet...or is she an Angel from the future? Is that possible in this universe?

I agree! They incorporated the animation perfectly, it would have been so easy for it to have come off as ridiculous but instead it was a lot of fun.

I wasn't expecting it to turn so sad either, it made me all teary eyed.
