Loved this episode! The beginning was so touching, watching time pass as Lucifer sang his broken heart out, still hoping Chloe would return.

The difference in Tom Ellis' body is astounding, too. I was afraid he would overdo it, but man, he's just perfect! Even through the suits, his legs are really showing his power, now. He looks like a different person. I like both ways, but he really worked hard for this change, and he is working to maintain it.

I love the subtle humor, when he threw that one thief across the club and it took an outlandishly long time for him to come down on the bar! He was getting really scary, and then he was so sweet, giving the thief another chance.

And then when Chloe did come back, the way he just stood there and stared at her was soooo... him. It was obvious something was wrong though by the way she didn't even acknowledge him, only Ella.

The mojo scene was too cute, too! I think it was a little of both, showing off and concerned with her reaction. He IS at this point trying to poke at her denial bubble.

Yes, that scene where he roars, holding the car with his hellfire eyes? Whew! I honestly thought, when I saw that in the trailer, that would be the point where he started becoming evil. I'm glad they didn't go with my idea/fear, that he would see himself losing control and ASK Chloe to kill him and send him back to Hell.

But her betrayal at the end of this episode broke my heart. I could see it happening, though. I have friends who won't watch this show because they think it's giving the real Lucifer energy. Sometimes I wonder, myself, but I still don't see an issue with praying for the redemption of a Son of God, and his reconciliation with his Father. I see nothing wrong with pulling for him to learn to love a human, and humanity, and to be loved in return. That is much better than a horrible war at the end of time.

I have to say, the camerawork in this show is absolutely stunning. The way they turned the image upside down in the last scene and followed Chloe turning right side up was brilliant, showing how the perception of her was wrong and now being revealed. Just the same as the way they shift from Earth/Hell scenes.
