I suppose it depends on the writers and whether they're creative enough to incorporate interesting storylines that allow some exploration of the character's history.

That's very true. It could either fall very short or do very well. It's also not something that Star Trek does. Sometimes they'll have episodes where people from the characters past shows up, which is good but quite difficult for a show like Voyager.
What's always annoyed me about BSG, while it is a huge ensemble cast, a lot of the time it seems like the Starbuck/Adama/Apollo show. I love the background stories but I would love it even more if it wasn't always about them. |

I think it just depends with BSG, sometimes it goes through stages where it's all about Starbuck and then it moves on a bit without her.

It still throws me for a loop to think of Starbuck as being female.

Exactly. Still, you'd think that they could have made an effort to incorporate memories of past incidents to help flesh out the background of the characters. __________________

I never saw the original BSG so having a male Starbuck would be odd to me, lol.

Starbuck was a ladies man. He was played by Dirk Benedict, who was on The A-Team with Dwight Schultz who was Reginald Barclay on TNG & VOY.
I was more into Apollo, __________________

Only a few degrees of separation to make the BSG talk on topic.

So which BSG actor would have made a good character on Voyager? __________________

Tricia Helfner as Seven of Nine?
Jamie Bamber as the half naked alien who runs around the ship in his undies. Wishful thinkin there on Jamie, lol. __________________

Had to look up Jamie Bamber and yeah, I'd be happy to see him guest starring. __________________

Actually yes he's a very good actor I think. Keep in mind the entire time you watch him that he's speaking in an american accent as well, just makes me admire him more since I'd never know if I hadn't see behind the scenes stuff.
