Bread and Circuses and The Omega Glory were the ones that really got on my nerves. A lot of season 2 is very good, but a while after the halfway mark it starts to go downhill.

I probably saw some of that long ago, but in my present watch I haven't seen that yet. I intend to start it tomorrow. Roddenbery was no longer showrunner that season and they had a reduced budget.

Knew they had a reduced budget in S3, didn't know about Roddenberry though

They did their best, but the cost of the special effects added up.

I'm close to the end of season 3 now. Not a great season, but at least there aren't all those pseudo-historical episodes we had in season 2. That stuff ruined the second half of season 2 for me. The Omega Glory, Bread and Circuses, Patterns of Force, etc.

Sounds like you're enjoying it overall. Some episodes definitely stand the test of time better than others.

Still, it's incredible that it's still airing and attracting an audience after all this time.

Not very many shows in that category.
