Hardy is a much better choice than Sam Worthington. It's a good cast.

The trailers for the movie look interesting.

He was in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. And I'm still pissed off that the Academy didn't nominate that one for Best Picture, even with nine spaces open. Instead they picked nonsense like The Descendants (Clooney, blech), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Sentimental, Woody Allen's latest crapfest (with Owen Wilson in the main role, no less) and Spielberg's latest sentimentality fest (this time about a horse). But then this is the same Academy that picked Crash.

Hardy should probably have been nominated for an Oscar for Bronson, but the Academy wouldn't touch a film like that. Would scare them.

I hope I'm not putting anybody off with my rant. The Academy tends to annoy me.

I've figured that out, but I tend to agree that the films and performances they pick often leave me scratching my head.

Meh. Maybe if I were an actor with so much as a tax-cut bill's chance in a Democratic Congress of being nominated for an Oscar, I might give a porcupine's posterior about the awards.

Most of Hollywood would irritate me if I gave it too much thought

I'll have to check and see who he's playing in that.

Looks like the critics aren't too thrilled with This Means War

Quote:
This Means War is a Valentine’s date dud: Think wilted roses, squashed chocolates and flat champagne.
Quote:
Rising character actor Hardy (Inception, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises) will live this down. The only real winner here could be Pine (Star Trek), whose comic timing is surprisingly sharp.
'This Means War' lacks romcom sizzle

Quote:
Pine and Hardy pull off some good light comedy here.
At least it seems positive about the performances of our Trek guysl

Chris, Hardy is playing the villain, Bane, in the new Batman movie.

Thanks for that sum. I've seen some Batman, but have to admit that I'm not familiar with Bane.
