True. At least she finally realized and admitted her feelings.

Better than just some casual, ordinary moment on board ship.

Exactly! How many couples can say they first professed their love in environmental suits?

There's this common perception out there that Voyager was by and large devoid of continuity and serialization, but Tom and B'Elanna's relationship and the development thereof is just one of numerous examples that belies that perception. We get the first hints of an attraction towards her on Tom's part in The Swarm (the fourth episode produced for Season 3), and it just keeps on going from there, so the writers had to have identified that they wanted to do a Tom/B'Elanna relationship very early on.

That's very interesting. I think that it does stick with the continuity quite a bit and like you said, especially with that relationship. We definitely see that with Tom's attraction to her in The Swarm and in Alter Ego when he says she looks "smashing" so yeah I really enjoyed seeing it all progress through the seasons.

Day of Honor is one of my favorites. I think it's hilarious how they always have moments like that when something bad is about to happen. She professes her love to Tom when they are in Environmental Suits, then in Drive when Tom proposes, their shuttle is about to have a breach and it's always like they have to be different and have these moments when something intense is going on lol.

It certainly helps make them memorable. But I suppose it makes sense that in intense moments, people think of loose ends that they want to tie up.

Yeah that's true.

I watched Course: Oblivion last night and I cried during that scene where Tom was telling B'Elanna about their honeymoon.
