dukesmom - thanks for digging up the actual quotes. I'll have to read through the series again some day.

Has anyone else seen the new Best Buy commercial in which the employee does a sort of mindmeld with the customer to figure out what kind of computer he needs?
This may have been posted before but since it's new to me, I'm going to post it any way. Last night I caught part of an old Criminal Minds episode that contained a conversation about Star Trek and physics. Luckily for me, imdb.com has the quote: Quote:

Haven't seen the commercial yet. Don't tend to watch a lot of tv in the summer.
I remember seeing that Criminal Minds episode. The look on Morgan's face at Reed's reply was priceless. __________________

1) In the final panel of the comic strip Over the Hedge on Sunday the turtle says, "Remember the Prime Directive: No interference in the internal affairs of primitive civilizations." The primitives to which he was referring were kids with cymbals.
2) In an article about catch phrases that will be featured on this year's Emmys, "Live long and prosper" was mentioned. I would link the article if I could find the stupid thing again. |

I've seen that comic strip when traveling, but it's not carried in my regular paper. Emmy Scoop! Heidi Klum Gets in Line - Marc Malkin - E! Online __________________

I had come across it and meant to post it, but got sidetracked. Thanks for reminding me about it.

The Soup compared New York's mom to a Klingon last night and showed a picture of Worf. In this case New York isn't the state or city, but a woman (?) who was on at least one season of Flava of Love and has a couple of spin-offs.

Apparently author Janet Evanovich is a fan of Star Trek. It is mentioned in two of the three books by her I read while on vacation.

I don't watch 30 Rock but I found the following quote from a recent episode on TV Gal's blog over at zap2it.com:
"I watched ‘Boston Legal’ nine times before I realized it wasn’t a new ‘Star Trek.’" Tracy to Liz on 30 Rock. |

How's this for a random Star Trek reference:
I was getting my hair cut during lunch today and the stylist was showing off her new hairdryer to another stylist and described it as "something out of Star Trek." She then pantomimed it flying through space like a starship. Personally, I thought it looked more like a phase pistol. |
