He does have a nice smile. And you can tell from his expressions that he's a bit of a comedian.

YES! I would love to see him in a comedic role. He just seems like a great guy to have a beer with after work.

Well you should, his comic timing is so good. And bear in mind he's written a lot of his more comedic roles, too.

I didn't know he had written some.

Does he do stand up at all or a series in the UK?

The first thing I ever saw him in was a sitcom he co-wrote in the 90s called Spaced. It was very good and about flat-sharing. Since then he's been in a number of comedy films, some he has helped write, some he hasn't. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End he all co-wrote with Edgar Wright, the director. And his best friend and co-star of Spaced, Nick Frost was starring with him in these the 'cornetto' trilogy, which are all parodies for the film genre they are about. He also co-wrote a film with Nick Frost called Paul about two British geeks on holiday in the US who meet a real-life alien.

He's been in other comedy roles too, but it's awesome he's in Trek now, and being involved in the writing side of that too.

No stand-up that I know of.

That sounds like it could be really funny. I tried Hot Fuzz but couldn't get into it.

Thanks for all the info Meliana!

I really liked Hot Fuzz. It's very British humour though, based on how we see rural communities and so on. The interesting thing about it is, it is very well researched, and all the police procedural stuff is done in a very accurate way.

Thanks, Meliana.

Are any of those available in the US or mostly UK availability? I admit that haven't heard of them, but Simon does come across as funny so I'd give it a chance.

I don't know for sure, but I expect the films are available in the US. It's probably harder to get hold of Spaced...

Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead are definitely available in Canada. I hadn't heard of Spaced before though.

Admittedly, I have not heard of them, but I may look them up because of him.
