Request Regulars/Off Topic #297: B/C We Are Looking Forward to Summer Events and Sales

Chris.... I'll start to check the weather on Wednesday and plan which day I want to go to the first event...however it won't be Sunday.... they removed that day. Hopefully Saturday afternoon will be good or Friday evening.

Johnnie...sounds like you had a good Sunday. I'm not in the middle of any game-sessions atm.... for a few years...I was doing Online basketbal game...you have to play different events and stuff to earn points and coins to get players. They also gave online gamers FREE players a few times a month. It was free, but many people online just buy coins and players.

Quote:
Dave - I hope the weather is decent so you can attend those events. Free is always good.

Johnnie - sounds like a productive session overall, even with the late start

Might get down to the Monday market in the park if the rain holds off.
Quote:
Chris: It went fine... got almost half way to level 3... we were about an hour late starting cause someone who used to play with us stopped in for a visit. We aren't playing next Sunday for Father's Day.

Streamed a little bit of DDO after Pathfinder... got a few spell cards made up and added a tougher fabric to the back of some of them... kind of want to get some glue sticks or something rather than trying to use packing tape on them.

New WoW expansion early access starts August 22nd apparently... so I got a rough idea when I may be starting my next vacation. Don't know a time of the day of the 22nd, so might end up working that day or doing a half day... it is a day I do normally do the order for the store, so it would make sense at least to work the morning.

Thanks for the new thread Dave. Anything in particular that you're looking forward to at the event?

In an apartment it's probably not feasible for you to have a bbq. We use our bbq quite a bit. How does the forecast look?

Chris.... the Forecast Friday looks great so far....but I never trust it until Thursday evening... if its cord or gray [threat of rain] I could go Saturday
Burger King has a grilled tasted burger.....but the one near me closed. There is one bus distance and a small walk...not really worth the bus waiting times. Intersection by the bus stop nearer to BK is dangerous as well

Dave - yeah, to me the forecast more than a couple of days out seems to be more of an educated guess and not always very accurate.

I'm not sure where there might be any Burger King stores around here. The two locations I can think of have both closed.

If it's just a light summer rain, it may well be dried up the next day.

Coffee cream is on sale this week, so plan to get out later and stock up on that.

They were sold out of the cream on the weekend when I did my major shop. Got some today and a few other things. Got a package of breakfast sausage that were reduced.

Did a lot of streaming yesterday and a fair bit today as well, got back into playing DDO. Not playing as much WoW this week. Got the last expansion and pre-ordered the next one, so I guess I'll keep busy until the next World of Warcraft expansion comes out.

Yes Next session has the potential to hit level 3, I think... if not maybe the next.

Beef prices are high here too. If my timing is right, I can find beef or sausage that's best before tomorrow at a reduced rate.

My neighbours are a 65 year old man, and his 90 year old mother. The man was taken to the hospital yesterday with chest pains. We didn't see an ambulance come, so didn't realize anything was wrong until the mother came over all upset because she had been watering the garden and couldn't get the hose turned off. She was pretty incoherent, and kept talking Hungarian instead of English, so it was really confusing. We found the son's cell phone number and called him to find out what was going on. Anyways, he's at the hospital here until he can be transferred to the city for surgery. I'll take the mother up to the hospital this afternoon to visit him.

Wow Chris...that is very dramatic situation. I am glad you can help them out today One of my neighbors died in my hallway last year....I didn't even know she had passed away until a week later. She had a dog...so I would have thought I'd know sooner b/c dogs bark when there is nobody there for a long period of time. Maybe she took the dog walking or in her car and something happened like an accident. She lived alone and was also in her 90s.

My mom said that my neighbor called them first thing when I was in my hit and run accident years ago. Apparently I was just being driven to the emergency room before my mom was contacted around 10 30 or 11 that night b/c NO cell phones back then

Didn't wind up taking the mother to the hospital. The son thought that would upset her more. They had talked on the phone and she had settled down a bit I did go over and sit with her a couple of times.

Dave that must have been a bit unsettling for you.

It's good that they prioritized getting you to the hospital, and then contacted your parents
