I heard the song on the radio and thought of Odo's feelings in "Chimera" immediately. For me, it represented the hardest point of their romantic relationship.
You could see how sorry he truly was in the turbolift after she left, as well as when he came back at the end of the episode -- it was in his eyes  . I think that after his betrayal during the Dominion Occupation, he was probably afraid she would never forgive him ... that he had lost everything they had. That fight scene was fierce! I care for you ... more than anybody else I've ever known. I felt so bad for Kira -- you could tell her heart was breaking. Their previous one-on-one scene together, Odo had said that their differences didn't matter to him because he loved her. Suddenly, he was telling her that he only cared for her. OUCH! The lovemaking scene made up for all the angst though .__________________

Oh, I loved chimera.... I was a little disappointed that Odo chose to leave in the first place, but ecstatic when he came home to Kira and the life he had.

I think that it distinguished them from other DS9 couples.
Odo felt that he needed to leave the station to tell Laas that he was choosing to stay with Kira ... that he was choosing love over his own people. He was also stunned by Kira's revelation in the turbolift ... so moved and surprised by the depth of what Kira had done for him that he was unable to speak. After he realized she set Laas free, he was bereft of words ... otherwise he would have said them to her in the turbolift. Also, he was suffering from guilt because of his own ignorance and arrogance, side effects of Laas's influence on him (remember, he was extremely cocky, rude, and arrogant in the previous scene, Sisko's office ... and Kira comments on it: You didn't hide it very well ... that you're glad he escaped. The choice he makes at the end and Kira's emotional, heartfelt love for him make the ep a standout for this O/K fan .__________________

Great banner! I'm jealous -- I'm still not sure how to make fanarts
 . I'm working on more vids though .I  him -- he's such a great actor and very talented. He's very sweet in person, too! I haven't been to a con with him as a guest in over 9 years! My son's never gone to a convention -- I think he might enjoy it. He's seen some of DS9 ... he thinks Odo's cool , but has never seen Rene out of Odo makeup. I've heard that Rene is great with kids .__________________
