So I was searching for this little OK moment I thought it was so sweet and finally found it the other night. It's such a short little scene but it says so very much about them as two people who care very much about each other. It's a little scene from Jem'Hadar, in the early days when it was slowly being revealed that Odo was in love with Kira. At the end of the scene Odo lingers as Kira leaves and the end of the scene is very similar to Kira's goodbye to Odo in COT and Chimera. What I thought was interesting about this scene was Kira's apparent concern for Odo. Kira corners Odo and tells him that he does not have to come on the mission. When he is pretty adamant about coming (he's worried about Quark), she tells him to keep his head down and he reply's to do the same. I love how much that friendship meant to both of them. To the point that Odo (partially) kept quiet about his feelings for her. And that Kira would confide him things she wouldn't tell anyone else including when she and Shakaar were together.

- YES! Even way back in A Man Alone. <-- Odo wasn't really alone in that episode. He had Kira and Quark on his side in that one.

^ btw love the picspam crazy diamond! I love her reaction. She's super surprised then amused. I wish though that she would have interrupted him. I would have loved to have seen his reaction about being caught practicing.

The writers realized Odo was in love with Kira mid-way through season 2 ("Necessary Evil"). A lot of Odo/Kira fans knew 'something' was there as early as the first few episodes in season 1. Odo, the grumpy curmudgeon (especially the first couple of years), is unfailingly solicitous and patient with Kira. There is this bond between them that we see starting with "Emissary" and it grows and deepens over the years. It's so much fun to watch those early seasons and ferret out those subtle undercurrents that can go by unnoticed if you aren't looking.

Then there's Kira's not-so-subtle seduction of Odo in "Dramatis Personae'. She might have been possessed by an Alien Entity, but I've always thought Kira was subconsciously acting on the signals Odo was sending out (without either of them knowing it). I don't think Odo would know to call what he felt for Kira as "love" at that point - only that he recognized some connection he couldn't identify.

Loved how in the scene in "The Jem'Hadar" after Kira leaves, Odo still watches her for a bit and then turns to go. He's watching her thoughtfully ....
