[Picard] 2:03 - Assimilation

2:03

After being thrown into an alternate timeline by Q,
Jean-Luc Picard and the La Sirena gang must go back in time to modern-day Los Angeles,
with the help of the Borg Queen, to find what changed history and set time back on track.

Was an ok eppy

- Elnor!!, the only one of the newbies I liked and he died, typical...
- I get the feeling this watcher isn't human
- I knew Rios would be the one to get into trouble as soon as he hit the deck
- Agnes, well she took the plunge hasn't she
- I don't get Picard at all, considering how he was in FC regarding the Borg Queen, now he's all oh yes let her help us. I know she is the only way to get there, but still..

Elnor will probably come back at the end when they restore the timeline.

It was enjoyable to watch. I thought the writing was a bit lazy in some areas, like the power being out for the sick bay but fine elsewhere. The script even signposted this, showing they realised it was an issue. Also they say don't go to a hospital, don't lose tech, and don't interfere with authority, and Chris does all of those! I wish they hadn't set that up in such an obvious fashion.

Still some nice moments with Seven, and the Borg queen is super scary!

I'm liking Agnes again.

I didn't like how some were making it seem like it was Picard's fault that Q was playing games, if Q wants to do something there isn't much Picard can do about it.

Just hope the timeline doesn't get too messed up with the situation at the medical facility.

Yeah, I was wondering if they were creating the divergent timeline in the first place. What's it called..bootstrap paradox. But seeing them messing around in today's LA is fun!

For a moment I thought they were meeting Captain Braxton from the VOY ep "Future's End" in that backyard with the homeless people.

I hope they didn't kill off Elnor. There's so much they could do with his character.

Yeah, seemed more like Janeway, but she wouldn't have let Elnor die.

I really enjoy the chemistry of the crew and the friendly snark.

Rios: "Do I still look like a fascist bastard?" - Seven: "Fascist no. Bastard..."

I wonder if the watcher is actually Guinan.

That would be interesting, it would be a good way to bring her into the story since we only got to see her briefly in the first episode.

Though as it was pointed out, it's weird the rest of the ship functioned and it was just sickbay that needed power. We're in the future now past Voyager, where is the fancy medical gadgets that don't rely on the ship being at full power?

Bringing in Braxton would have been a nice tie in to Voyager but we seen him in 1996, I think we're supposed to be in the 2000s right now... things would have likely been long fixed from that.

When they did the slingshot maneuver there were some very similar moments to Voyage Home and I expected those upfloating heads, lol

I noticed that too. Some obvious comparisons to that movie for sure.
