Me too! And it wasn't just once, when he first arrived to show that she's annoyed with him, but seems to be what she routinely calls him. I really can't see the Picard we know putting up with that. He'd be correcting her. Otherwise I did like the character. The resentment of Picard's resignation causing the loss of her security clearance, and her current circumstances compared to his seem realistic.

Not sure yet what I think of Rios. The holograms are an interesting twist. I'm afraid it might get annoying.

I've really liked Laris & Zhaban, especially Laris. They're definitely more than just housekeepers. I'll miss seeing them.

There's definitely something off about Soji & Dahj's mother. While she might not know that Soji is dead, she would definitely know that something is wrong and that she's missing.

I know exactly what you mean. I want to like the show, but it hasn't hooked me yet. I"m not sure I'd continue watching if it didn't feature Picard.

Exactly, I feel the same way too..

Yeah I did think that hologram would get annoying, let's hope he doesn't, that goes with the "JL" part too...

Maybe we'll get an explanation for the "JL" bit, but I really can't see anybody else getting away with calling him that.

Do you think we'll learn more about Dahj & Soji's mother?

hmm … that's an interesting theory. Since they're synthetic, they wouldn't have a biological mother. Having memoires of supposedly being raised in a family would make them more plausible as humans.

Seen the episode now, it was ok but a bit slow for sure. Since when do people on earth smoke? In TNG it was stated that this habit disappered long ago. Sometimes I really have the feeling alex kurtzman never actually watched the old trek shows.

Yeah, plus rios or whatever is name is, takes money? What money, did they forget the money based economy was stopped in the 22nd century? This show is not very canonical tbh. I guess smartypants Kurtzman watched like 3-4 tng episodes and then thought he knew everything he needed to make a logical sequel. Sorry for being a bit cynical but I'm not at all a fan of kurtman and his creating style.

Let's just see it as an alternate timeline where picard got good old dollars for his captains job on the enterprise.

Yes it actually feels old fashioned and not modern. Also the clothes of the people looks very 21st century which is weird. It's very unlikely that in the 23rd century people would wear the stuff we wear. The story is good, but some stuff in this show is real nonsense, discovery does that better.
