That will be quite the jump ahead! Should give them room to explore lots of story options without worrying too much about continuity.

Even though I'm already watching both The Expanse and Doctor Who Season 23, I got sucked into watching DSC for the third time, and The Vulcan Hello/Battle at the Binary Stars still remains my favorite Trek Pilot precisely because it's not like any other Trek Pilot.

You've watched it through 3 times? Glad you enjoy it so much.

I have to admit that I haven't done a rewatch yet. Most of the episodes I've only seen once.

I'd be more inclined to rewatch the 2nd season than the first.

A comment on one of the many things I love about Discovery: Even though I know that Captain Lorca is a bad dude, Jason Isaacs is so good at what he does that I still get sucked into the facade that the character is putting forth.

Completely agree. While he came across as a bit shady and willing to bend the rules to get what he wanted done, I never suspected that he was AU.

And his crew was obviously willing to trust his leadership.

Georgiou, Lorca, Pike … Discovery certainly burns through captains.
