the DMA approaches Earth and Ni’Var. With evacuations underway, Burnham and the team aboard the U.S.S. Discovery
must find a way to communicate and connect with a species far different from their own before time runs out.

OMG!!!

That's it. That's the post!

- Tilly!!! So like her to reassure the cadets that they're ready
- nice shot of the spiral space station
- why didn't they think to attempt a telepathic link to species 10C earlier?
- :melt: @ Hugh indicating to the other doctor that they should give Saru & T'Rina some time alone
- Reno makes it back to Discovery! :yay:
- it took until the last second, but Tarka finally sees the light and helps Book escape
- Tilly reminiscing about her life and not having any regrets. She always manages to stay positive
- Hugh choosing to be with Paul & Adira rather than joining the others on the planet
- considering the communication challenges, their messages to the 10C seem overly complicated
- Book is back?
- nice that the 10C give them a wormhole home
- love the reunions, especially of the crew with Tilly and Saru & T'Rina
- overall I thought it was a terrific finale

I must admit I thought it was a boring finale, just plodding on throughout that eppy

- Tilly!!!, great to see her back and the show is missing her presence
- Reno back on Discovery where she belongs have giving Stamets a nickname ;)
- I really like the scenes between Saru and T'Rina
- Lovely to see Hugh with his family on Discovery
- I had a feeling Book would be back..

Wow, what a cinematic ending! Wonderful episode. It felt like the whole series was ending, but I didn't catch any news on that.

Really? I quite enjoyed it. They tied up the DMA storyline, and the various relationships has some screen time.

I thought that it would be a good series finale too. As far as I know, it's coming back.

I did find the season went by quickly. Only 10 episodes listed for next season so far though.

I think seeing Tilly was my favourite part of the episode. :)

Yeah, I think to me that was the biggest issue if we're to believe that math is basically being used to convey everything they want to say. I guess maybe a computer could find a way to translate it quickly enough I suppose, but outside that I could see there would have been large issues in communicating.

I didn't think they'd kill him off, for a little bit I thought maybe... but it did seem weird that they basically had his signal to beam him and then just lost him like that.

Yeah, otherwise we'd have some seasons like Voyager in trying to get home. I don't know what's involved in fixing the drive, but it might be worth looking into something to get it working without having to be docked somewhere... cause if it were to go offline with them being so far out - they wouldn't be back anytime soon.

It sure did, I was so confused by it when they introduced it

So far I find picard season 2 better than discovery this season.

Really? For the most part, I enjoyed this season of Discovery. The second episode of Picard didn't appeal to me at all and I still haven't found the motivation to watch last week's episode.

Arrakis 03-23-2022 10:36 AM

I did like discovery too, but the finale was not that great tbh.

And I love time travel stuff, so to me i really enjoyed picard this season so far, except the story of picard's domestic abuse. That was unnecessary.

finally some more non-humanoid aliens!

 I get it takes a lot more of the special effects budget, but it does add some realism when every species isn't humanoid.

Waldfrau 07-03-2022 11:41 AM

Yeah, if you see too many people just with stuff glued to their face it gets boring after a while.

Meliana 07-19-2022 07:39 AM

I never thought Book was dead.

Great to have Tilly back!

The communication got awfully easy, incredibly quickly there!

I'm glad that Hugh felt more connected to his family at the end!
