TFTNT Chris!

Good to see Adira back..

Thought it was another ok eppy

- Good character scenes in this eppy
- So now Bryce is leaving as well!
- Really liked the continuation of the Saru/Culber scene from last eppy, love sentiment from Hugh sharing with Saru when he first met Paul
- Glad we finally got some background on Tarka
- The story, i think , though is dragging..
- Aww Paul and Adira scene, needed that scene between them.

It felt like an in-between-episode, but I enjoyed the care they've given the character moments. Tarka and his friend didn't need that many scenes to get the feels across though.

I liked it too. Just thought it would have been more effective if they hadn't cut it into a dozen little scenes.

One thing making no sense, them acting as if nobody ever left the gallacting barrier, but clearly Kirk left it twice with the enterprice. Seems the writers never watched TOS.

Also why did they not just fly over or under the barrier?

Yeah, the whole galactic barrier stuff doesn't make any sense.

I'm confused. Is this the finale ep? Or do we get another next week? I think s2 of Picard also starts next week.

- agree that this felt like a filler episode
- Bryce is leaving? It seems that we just finally got to see him as a bit more than filling a seat on the bridge
- cute that Saru was so shy with the T’Rina, but managed to get up the courage to talk to her before they left. Also, his wariness to realize that she's on board and hasn't let him know how she feels about him. Another nice scene with Saru & Hugh. Liked Hugh sharing about how he met Paul
- Michael and President Laira posturing about who is ultimately in charge and setting boundaries
- Book is finally suspicious of Tarka's motives. Some background about Tarka was nice, but agree that it should have been condensed
- @ Michael being snippy with Paul about him not getting them closer to the DMA

I agree it's a weird premise. If it was possible to fly over or under it you'd think they'd have thought of it, but probably could have made it more evident that such a feat wouldn't be possible like with Qs barrier in TNG.

Well a bit of a dull episode if I'm honest. Nothing really happened at all. We got some backstory, but it didn't invoke my sympathy, or interest particularly.

The Galactic barrier was clearly a plot device to give them something to overcome, but the threat didn't seem all that threatening.

I'm kind of amazed they made an entire episode out of this premise.
