All hail the Emperor!

I need to watch this episode again just to process everything that was happening!! OMG!

wickedrum 12-10-2020 02:33 PM

so Saru still makes mistakes. Well, I guess he couldn't just become perfect overnight.

Not a bad eppy this one, did like the Georgiou storyline.

- So Georgiou is basically disappearing before our eyes because of the timeline she came from
- Did like that Hugh found a way to help Georgiou as we knew he would ;)
- Did like the handshake between Georgiou and Saru and the hug between Tilly and Georgiou, I knew she cared ;)
- Another good scene with Stamets and Adira, trying to help her in dealing with her loss
- Paul Guilfoyle appearing
- I'm glad that the Admiral told Saru that sometimes rules can go by the wayside for helping people and he took that on board later
- Intriguing to see our characters in the alternative timeline. Tilly loyal to her Emperor.
- I did like Georgiou saving Saru there, her feelings come through for him and trying to help Michael.
- Michael going full traitor
- Once again though the “burn” storyline was completely dropped :look:, it’s going to be a rush storyline considering not many eppy’s left..

I enjoyed this episode much more.

It really shows that Georgiou has changed quite a bit, and her approach is much softer than in the past. I look forward to the second part of this.

I'm excited to see Capt. "Killy" and more of the Terran Universe.

Vance giving Saru the greenlight to save Philippa was really surprising from him. It was a good surprise, to be honest. It shows he does have a heart, nd you could tell that there was a touch of regret too. He probably let a crewmember "drown" while putting the greater good first.

We had a sense that Terran Michael's betrayal deeply wounded Philippa, but now we get to see -- hopefully -- a different outcome to that.

Philippa stabbing Terran Stamets was a little shocking, considering we know how he ultimately died at the hands of Lorca.

I liked seeing how Terran's party -- especially Ohwo, Stamets, Culber, and Rhys holding handheld agonizers to see who lets go first! And then Slave Saru being "saved" by Philippa was smart as much as it was a mercy.

I'm so excited to see PT.2!!!

Okay, so we're in the mirror universe again. I wonder what the outcome will be. Does anyone know how many episodes are left?

crazy_diamond 12-12-2020 04:48 AM

there are 4 episodes left

Rita - you can make one if you like...

Waldfrau 12-12-2020 06:20 AM

That's good, it thought the series would end next week.

I just watched it...

loved the goodbye scenes with Georgiou and the main crew...
loved that we got to see her go back in time to Mirror Universe...the story reminded me of the historic betrayal of Julius Casar
Evil Burnham was crazy... almost as evil as the Joker
Now I know why it's a 2 parter...no way to do that story all in one episdoe
Wow... Saru and his species were slaves in mirror Universe...and he's Captain in the normal universe
I'm guessing these are Michelle's last 2 episodes with Discovery before going to do a Marvel movie
Speaking of Marvel...they are going to do a cartoon series called "what If" .... this episode reminded me of that..." what if things happened differently"

kiamay 12-12-2020 03:52 PM

I really enjoyed this episode! :)
Especially seeing Georgiou struggling with the status quo of her old life.

Though I didn't know Michelle was leaving

The reason why I had to drop by though: I am rewatching The X Files and saw S5 Detour. It took me a moment, but then I recognized his voice first. Anthony Rapp as the tech nerd in the woods  Loved him!
