Amanda :thud: Elena's real mother from TVD - that's why I recognized her :lmao: :rotfl: Alaric's wife

Oh that memory that Michael learns from Sarek  related to how his Vulcan high command made him pick between Michael and Spock  WE NEED MORE SAREK :thud: James is remarkable cause only seen him as a villain before. So epic moments and how Michael's feelng towards Sarek now is

Am I suppose to ship Michael with this new dude? :goof: cause kinda am

Captain oh Captain :lmao: we need your history like ASAP, oh Captain - we need to know what happened to your previous ship but doubt we will learn cause it'll add to the mystery

I'm sitting plant on the fence :rotfl: :lmao: I feel the Admiral's threat BUT don't feel how Captain could have known what would have happened to her - don't think he could have known it was a trap - yea common sense but he wouldn't have 100% for sure knowledge of that - so really am just going to go for the ride and hope he's good :look:

Yea :bubble: still need to return to finish the second half of the episode :rotfl:

The Captain is still a mystery

Arrakis 10-25-2017 05:12 AM

He might have speculated that it was a trap.

Tend to agree that Lorca couldn't know that the meeting with the Klingons was a trap, but that he had his suspicions due to his experience with them.

A mystery, wrapped in an enigma, surrounded by a riddle....

 Yes, the man seems to have many layers.

intriguing!

Good episode. I like that the characters are slowly becoming more 'real', over time.

That said, I find it a bit frustrating that every character needs to be somewhat 'mysterious', like they all have dark corners in their past or character. Call me old-fashioned, but I miss the old TNG vibe where the Federation was 110% good and where a captain like Picard was the person you absolutely wanted to become when growing old. I hope we will see a development towards this idea over the course of this show.

 they're doing a good job fleshing out the characters and making them interesting.

I know what you mean. While Lorca seems to be a good leader, finding out about shady events in his past doesn't make me want to trust or admire him. With Picard, Janeway or Kirk, they might push boundaries, but deep down you always knew that they wouldn't cross any lines. Lorca seems willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
