Right now? Mine would be Fitz/Simmons from Agents of SHIELD. Even though they are having a hard time right now, they're still completely 100% best friends and in each other's lives.

I also really love John Paul/Craig from Hollyoaks. They started off as best friends and then fell in love with each other and wound up having five wonderful years together as a couple before the show ruined it.

Awesome thread! Many of my ships started off as friends but ended up (or not in some cases of hopelessly dumb writers) together, here are some of them:

Nolan/Emily from Revenge, poor Nolan, forever friendzoned with no guts to act out on his feelings I'd rather not start on this one because it makes me so damn angry. But seriously writers? Seriously? 4 goddamn years of teasing and baiting and you give us nothing?

Dan/Blair(GG), they were absolutely amazing as friends Too bad that the ending they got didn't even hint at the possibility of further friendship...Not that I could see them reverting back to friends easily knowing how hard Dan fell for her, but at least they shouldn't have ended up as freaking enemies. That was ridiculous. Blair had zero motives to hate him. The only one who had every right to be mad was Dan. But he loved her enough to forgive all the stomping all over him, bitching and badmouthing, and what he got in return? Her being a complete bitch to him saying that she'd rather be with anyone than with him. Really? After everything that he's done for her?

Rayna/Liam(Nashville). Liam was perfect for Rayna. She was turning into a completely different person around him, goofy, funny, dramafree , iike there was suddenly not a single worry in the world, she's just enjoying herself. It also didn't hurt that he was seemingly an amazing kisser but yeah of course the show ruined this awesomeness in favor of the dull and toxic couple that's supposed to be epic love.

Chris/Jal(Skins) Wonderful friendship that had grown into a wonderful relationship. Alas life wasn't fair to them

Roman/Peter.(HG) Their bond is so strong! They better hook up before the show wraps up. I think Roman fell in love with Peter immediately, and Peter definitely has and always will be the most important person in his life.

Ron/Hermione. (HP) What a wonderful journey they had!
Dawson/Mills. (CF) They were so good for each other and so happy together as friends and lovers. I really miss them sometimes. But Mills deserves better than this.

I also forgot about Jude/Connor from the Fosters. They have such an important journey together. Connor started off as Jude's first and only friend and then slowly they started to grow together and mature together and see each other as more than just best friends. Recently they shared the youngest same sex kiss on television and it was just the sweetest thing. They've gone from hanging out and playing video games together to holding hands in the movie theatre while on a group date and its been such a beautiful journey. I cant wait to see more.

Stefan/Caroline, because even though they don't have humanity atm (i hope he's faking it lol), they've had 6 seasons of solid buildup, seasons of a journey, they've always been there for each other and i believe they'll be a great couple.

Dan/Blair - they are actually one of the few couples in GG history that had buildup and a believable foundation. We actually see them rely on each other and admire one another. They turned to each other in their darkest moments. And they actually had things in common - what a concept! They got each other, had similar minds and hearts. I really loved all their scenes, whether they were just friends, falling in love, or true partners. Gosh, their smiles.

Jacob/Bella - One of my favorite "best friends" because they actually were truly best friends. They loved each other as people first and foremost. He truly cared about protecting her and keeping her alive. He saved her in her darkest times. And she loved him so much, as well. They just were so silly and goofy around each other. And even when they were mad at each other and fought, like real friends/lovers, they always forgave each other.

Harry/Sally - legitimately the perfect example of best friends falling in love. It's my favorite movie of all time, actually just rewatched it last night, and they were beyond wonderful and special.

Ben/Leslie - These two are beyond cute and silly and perfect for each other. Another perfect example of true, genuine friends falling in love.

Both have been best friends from the beginning and both have an incredible bond already without it being romantic. But the fact is it IS romantic, and it hasnt really ruined them. FitzSimmons has been going through a hard time lately, but I know they'll come out of it stronger than ever. Same with Jude/Connor.

monica and chandler these two are my favorite friends turned into more. I love them so much. It started out so wonderful. Just two friends that didn't have secret crushes on the other. Just two people that went from friends to something a whole lot more. None of that drama. ( nothing wrong with drama because it does make good tv but it is refreshing to come across where there is none.)
