One has to wonder where he got it.

They were freshmen in HS in that episode, he probably didn't hold onto it for very long. I think they were just trying to die the HS years into the JH ones. Or just their way of reintroducing Zack's crush on Kelly.

I loved it

Now, it probably seems creepy to people, but back then, it was seen as sweet by viewers that Zack was so dedicated to loving Kelly -from afar- and constantly waiting in the wings until she noticed him.

EXACTLY!

Alex was a mix of Jessie and Lisa, and Leslie was a mix of Kelly and Jessie.

The fan reaction to the penultimate episode when Lark Voorhies returned to film scenes where Lisa was announced as Kelly's Maid of Honor, was huge. You can hear people scream and clap for ages.

This should have been a hint to the crew that leaving Lisa and Jessie behind was probably not the wisest decision.
