This movie has the BEST OPENING ever of any animation! No matter how many times I watch it I get chills EVERY SINGLE TIME as Rafikki holds up Simba and the animals all begin to bow to their future LION KING! SUPERB! Saw the theatrical performance twice and got the same feeling but MAGNIFIED! Julie Taymor is a creative genius. How she was able to bring this movie to the stage w/o losing any of it's power and charm is amazing.
Best opening ever, as far as I'm concerned! And I love the ending too, how the music transitions back to Circle of Life, and then we see the cub, and boom, the Circle starts over. And Simba and Nala were just so symbolic of that. Nala especially, she's one of my favorite characters ever.

I never knew there was a Simba/Nala thread here! Always loved them together and The Lion King is still my favorite animated Disney movie.

It's a great title. You've got the pouncing game from them as cubs and then the pouncing as adults.
