Arthur&Guinevere (Merlin) - Because of them I stopped watching Merlin. I want to catch up but it's so hard having to watch their ridiculous "love story" unfolding. She may have loved him and respected him as the man that he was, but she was never in love with him in a romantic sense and their story was not something epic. Gwen fell in love with Lancelot, but of course they had to butcher that entire storyline as well.

The most laughable thing of all: In S1, Arthur and Morgana do not in any way, shape or form treat one another as brother and sister. In the latter seasons, they not only refer to each other as such, but is this past season alone they have had not even a handful of scenes. The entire Arthur/Gwen storyline completely screws up every other storyline on this show, and nearly every other relationship as well. I just...I can't even with how frustrating it is.

Since I feel personally victimized by Brooke/Julian, reposting my rant:


Brooke: Ah, Julian, you make me so happy! So happy that all the evolation I made after getting out of a dysfunctional relationship with Lucas is being completelly erased when I'm with you! You made me whiny and self centered again, yay. I love you so much.

Julian: And I love you too, Brooke Davis. You are so smart and pretty and rich. You are flawless!

Brooke: No, I am not flawless! To be flawless I need to be able to have your babies and you know I can't have kids, we will never become an average socially approved normal couple!

Julian: Don't worry, we will figure out something!

Haley: I'm pregnant.

Brooke: Oh, amazing! So I can't get pregnant but Haley is expecting for the second time?! It is SO unfair! I deserve it more than Haley who had just gotten over a horrible depression after the loss of her mom, a depression that I was too busy with myself to help her through.

Julian: Don't be upset, Brooke. We are still a perfect couple.

Brooke: No, we are not, we need babies to be perfect! Haley, when you have your second baby can I and Julian have Jaime? Sorry that I talk about it now when you are dealing with the fact that your sister and Nathan's best friend are about to die. It's just that my problems are much more complecated and important.

Julian *thinks about making another movie*

I've spent the last 2 seasons waiting for them to get back together, if this is the last season and i don't get what i want Shonda will suffer. There's no way we're ever gonna believe they'd settle for someone else just like that. Jackson and "annoying eye surgeon" don't stand a chance, it's so obvious it's not even funny
Besides we've seen literally nothing of them in the 1st part of the season, we deserve all the scenes in the world in the 2nd part.

Oh, god. Thank you for giving such a good laugh with this amazing post of yours. I haven't watched season 8 and don't plan on doing so, but I hate how Brooke becomes so self-involved when she's with Julian or Lucas for that matter. Those relationships just brought out the worst possible versions of her.

Haha, glad you found the post enjoyable. I've literally just catched up with S8 and BJu are REALLY hard to handle, because honestly they are just as bad as BL and in some aspects are even worse (never thought I'd say it lol). The thing is that I think Brooke is a great character away from Lucas and Julian, but unfortunatelly the periode of time she was allowed to spend away from them and her contrived romances with them was so tragically short. Writers HAD to hook her up with Julian and make her whiny, self centered, selfish and unberable again for the sake of this suckfest that was passed for twu wuv. I honestly doubt that Mark ever really loved Brooke as a character because he makes every possible thing to ruin her and her evolation. She had such a great growth in season 5, she was amazing there and also there were two guys - Chase and Owen - with whom she actually was a likeable person. There were a lot of good SL's that could have been written for Brooke, unfortunatelly Mark went for the worst one aka BJu






And oh lord, I was just remembering how great BTVS overall was and then cringed at the fact that Willow/Kennedy are supposed to be considered endgame when all the other great couples were ruined in the end. Reminds me of Thomas/Pandora who got the only ridiculous LOLWTF happy ending out of all the characters while two only characters that deserved it more than anyone else didn't get it because writers HAD to have their so-called "shocking", edgy and provocative plot twist in the end

Brooke was always self-centered though, that had nothing to do with her boyfriends imo.

I have no clue about Julian because I stopped half way through season 6 but Lucas was just a lousy boyfriend, whether he was with Brooke or Peyton. And imo his feelings for both were genuine, even if the show tries to erase Lucas' feelings for anybody beside Peyton. Both Brooke and Peyton deserved better and I will never understand how two best friends could end up fighting over such a guy who was mediocre at best.

I'm one of a few people who don't hate any of three characters (Peyton, Lucas, Brooke) even though I had some major issues with each of them at different points; I really like Brooke alone or away from Lucas and Julian, I think she deserved to be written better and to be around someone who doesn't turn her into such a selfish person. I believe she had feelings for Lucas and I believe he had feelings for her as well. But I don't like how their relationship went and how they were written and how contrived every single thing about BL was in season 2 when suddenly they were passed for true love after being nothing but sex buddies during season 1.

When it came down to Lucas both girls imo used to turn into weak, whiny, selfish and self-centered shell of themselves. But out of the triangle I've enjoyed all characters. Lucas was a great friend and uncle, Peyton a better friend than what people make her out to be, and so was Brooke.
I don't understand what was so great about him either, but i guess you can't choose who you fall in love with.
The thing is, it's all been written in such a contrived and unrealistic way.
He used to claim to love a woman in one episode, then to love another one in the next one, and brooke and peyton used to swear to be friends forever and say "clothes over bros" then 5 minutes later they were fighting over Lucas like hens.

And I'm not really a fan of Nathan/ Haley either. IDK, I don't think the show is for me

I agree, it was all handled in a very contrived manner, the whole triangle thing. For the sake of it, Lucas needed to be written like a guy who would play the feelings of both girls even though he was generally a good person and would never hurt anyone intentionally. I love Peyton and LP but obviously her relationship with Luke were largely affected by bad writing of the show in general, season 5 was the worst thing I could ever imagine (for both Luke and Peyton as characters and as a relationship) and only because I was prepaired for OTH coming up with ridiculous writing at different points I managed to get past that and erase it from my memory.

When it comes to OTH in general, I think me not having high expectations about it helped me to enjoy it way more than I thought I would and I sticked to it for 8 seasons even though other shows, that have a better reputation than OTH, didn't manage to make me follow them for more than 2 (TVD and Skins being great examples). I think it's because I didn't expect anything from OTH and so I was happy with what I got even though it wasn't much.
