when I watch season 1 and 2, which for me are the only seasons I tend to rewatch it reminds me how great these two were and how much I shipped them early in the show. They really loved each other

I wouldn't worry about the Dan haters. DS is the reason I watched this show. The first four seasons I loved them so much.

I just really love that the whole concept of the show was created so Dan could be with her. And he got her in the end.

So many people say that it makes no sense that Dan is GG, and in a bunch of instances, I agree. BUT I really appreciate the logic behind Dan wanting to write himself into that world. I feel like the ending, had GG been any one of the other characters, wouldn't feel as satisfying. But maybe I'm biased because I love Dan and Serena together so much and always rooted for them.

My only problem with that tacked on endings is two thing: One there are too many plotholes and how did we go from the bad story to him outing himself as GG. I love the big picture, he knew he loved her and wanted her so bad part of it. There is a whole Fitzgerald theme with DS. I think people just make fun of him being gg cause they are butthurt that at the end of the day, Dan got to be the love of his life and not all alone and bitter like they wanted him to be.

I wish the writers had known GG would be Dan from the beginning so the plot holes weren't so glaring. But at the end of the day I'm still happy. DS got their happy ending and that's all I need.
