I wouldn't quite use that word. She just saw him as a friend at that time, but he was actually happy to have her as a friend. He loved how close they were & didn't ever see it as a consolation prize.

I feel like it was unmentioned friend zone because it never went farther than that. But I can see how the word could be over the top.

I think it's just all the negative connotations that come with that word, plus I got a bit protective of Xander, just because so many people want seem to want to twist around everything he says & does in the worst possible way
