ღ Bridget Jones's Diary ღ  Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) The story picks up four weeks after the first film, and already Bridget Jones is becoming uncomfortable in her relationship with Mark Darcy. Apart from discovering that he's a conservative voter, she has to deal with a new boss, strange contractor, and the worst vacation of her life. Storyline Bridget Jones is an average woman struggling against her age, her weight, her job, her lack of a man, and her many imperfections. As a New Year's Resolution, Bridget decides to take control of her life, starting by keeping a diary in which she will always tell the complete truth. The fireworks begin when her charming though disreputable boss takes an interest in the quirky Miss Jones. Thrown into the mix are Bridget's band of slightly eccentric friends and a rather disagreeable acquaintance who Bridget cannot seem to stop running into or help finding quietly attractive.  Mark: Look, I’m sorry if I’ve been… Bridget: What? Mark: I don’t think you’re an idiot at all. I mean, there are elements of the ridiculous about you. Your mother’s pretty interesting. And you really are an appallingly bad public speaker. And, um, you tend to let whatever’s in your head come out of your mouth without much consideration of the consequences. I realise that when I met you at the turkey curry buffet that I was unforgivably rude, and wearing a reindeer jumper that my mother had given me the day before. But the thing is… um. What I’m trying to say, very inarticulately… is that, um, in fact, perhaps… despite appearances… I like you. Very much. Bridget: [laughs] Ah. Apart from the smoking, and the drinking, and the vulgar mother, and the verbal diarrhoea— Mark: No, I like you very much. Just as you are.  Bridget: You once said that you liked me just as I am, and I just wanted to say likewise. I mean, you wear stupid things your mum buys you. Tonight’s another classic. You’re haughty, and you always say the wrong thing in every situation. And I seriously believe that you should rethink the length of your sideburns. But you’re a nice man. Pan, another ship in common.
  I loved all their scenes, especially how Mark accepts Bridget for all that she is. Wobbly bits and all. __________________

Pan, glad to find another Love Actually fan. I actually didn’t like half the couples there but I loved the other two: Colin’s character/foreign lady (I’m so terrible with names  ) and Hugh Grant’s character/lady in the White House. And thanks for the pics and video links, Gio. I’ll post up one of my fav videos later ... I found a really great one. __________________
