If John Ross continues to sneak around with Emma in S3 I will certainty not be impressed. Because it's clear, as horrible as it is, that him sleeping with Emma was her 'prize' at taking down Ryland :puke:. Although for me this season (and JRPR) ended at episode 14. #15 was a letdown in so many ways.

Gosh, I HOPE it's renewed. I mean, I would HATE for the show to end with a freaking Emma/John Ross scene.

Dallas NEEDS to get a season 3 so the writers can fix things.

The ratings in season 2 were solid given the competition! Also, keep in mind the second season premiered in winter while the first season was in the summer where there was zero competition.

I think TNT is most likely negotiating the number of episodes to order for season 3 and when to air the show (summer or winter) and the storylines.

Plus there was the fervor of the return of the show. A lot of people were excited with the return of Dallas and for many old-time fans, this show is too "mexican" but whatever they have a right to their bitching.

I doubt that tbh. They are considering renewing a show that has 1.6 and may have lost its lead.

Do you think a 1.6 is good for TNT? I've never really looked into the ratings.

As a Josh & Julie fan I'd love for another season but that finale did not make me excited in any way, sadly.

Most shows once they hit a 3rd season the writers seem to focus more on the writing than anything else. Cidre needs to take note.

TNT is a struggling cable network. 1.6 is not good which is why I think Southland will go, but I do think anything over 2.5 is considered strong. There shows average between 2.0-4.0 with some shows making over that occassionally, but its pretty knew with original programming.

But I'm so sure that in the next season, the writers would show MORE CLEARLY that John Ross loves Pamela.

It would be horrible to end the show with Emma/John Ross...

:(

I really hope they do. I thought it did but look what happened. After all that Pamela has been through I wish that John Ross haven't done what he did even if was for business.

It really would :nono:.

Cynthia said in an interview that Drew is returning for sure.

Also, some fans participated in the after the finale episode survey on TNT, and here is what they received after the survey:

Looks like it's confirmed. And also, here is what another fan said:

I've been reading the forums and everyone acts like season 3 is up in the air?

I got a message on April 9th from Dallas-The next Generation on Facebook that season 3 has already been picked up and is going back to the summer. June 2014 to be exact.

Am i missing something?
This is from a different forum.

So it seems like season 3 of Dallas is a go. I just have NO IDEA why TNT can't just officially announce it yet.

Is that when everyone believed Patrick Duffy had confirmed it, when it was just his opinion?

Normally, cable shows don't have to wait for May upfronts at all. Usually, they are renewed right away IF there is a renewal.

Anyway, here is what Patrick Duffy recently said:

Quote:

DUFFY: ‘DALLAS’ WILL RISE AGAIN
“Dallas” may never return to its “Who Shot J.R.?” heyday of the 1980s, but its star Patrick Duffy says TNT isn’t ready to put a bullet in the once wildly popular drama’s reboot just yet.
Despite so-so ratings, “Dallas” 2.0 will be back for a third season and the show has a funeral to thank for its new life, Duffy said.
Sources tell us network bosses were nervous that show icon Larry (“J.R.”) Hagman’s death in November combined with subpar ratings could spell trouble. But Duffy, who plays J.R.’s brother Bobby Ewing, said, “A network like TNT and Warner Brothers look at the trend. ... They are ecstatic with what ‘Dallas’ is doing and as long as we continue that in the demographics of 18-40, we are their golden child.”
It doesn’t hurt that after a so-so start, “Dallas” scored season high ratings with the funeral of Hagman’s J.R. character earlier this month. The memorial episode attracted 3.6 million viewers, well above this season’s average of 2.6 million. Duffy thinks it’ll only get better next season.
“The summer is the perfect time on cable television because none of the other networks are premiering anything,” he said.

I think they'll air Dallas season 3 in the summer which is a smart choice since there is no competition in the summer.

Airing season 2 of Dallas in the winter against HUGE primetime competition was a mistake, I think .

Even if Patrick Duffy had expressed his opinion, I still think that TNT official survey basically confirms that Dallas will be back in season 3.

Sorry for the double post! I just saw the above comment!
