These two could've been amazing together if the writers had given them a fair chance. But even with the 3 episodes they ended up being together in the end I think their relationship was so much better than Ross/Rachel's.

I think what upset me most was that after they broke up they acted like they had never dated.

Suddenly all the feelings Joey had for Rachel were gone or what? And Rachel was completely over him too? That's one part of season 10 I really don't like. They abruptly ended Joey/Rachel and then focused on bringing Ross/Rachel together hastily.

First, welcome to the thread, and I love your post and I agree that their relationship was really just great from everything we seen and the way the writers handled it made it worst.

I can answer one of your questions though, Joey never fell out of love with Rachel, he just went to hiding it like he did during Season 8-9.

I feel like the main reason they didn't work was because of Ross, even after he accepted it, it seems like it was in the back of the mind but it was bad writing to have Ross finally accept Joey and Rachel relationship and realize that him and Rachel haven't been together in such a long time and if Rachel was going to end up with anyone, he'd rather it be Joey than anyone else. Seems like a waste of an episode.

Probably the writers wanted to go one way and then second guessed it...

I think they were just scared of people blaming Ross if Rachel & Joey broke up, so they thought 'let's throw in this episode showing Ross learning to be ok with it & then break them up for a different stupid reason'

It did. I love Friends & I have a lot of respect for the writers, but I can't pretend that season 10 wasn't sloppy....

Yeah Season 10 definitely was over the place at times.

It had a nice four episode start with Joey and Rachel's relationship though.

It was, & I'm glad that we at least got to see them as a couple for a little while. I think it would have been more frustrating for us if they got so close, but then never happened at all.
