Buffy♥Angel #25: Because his "perfect happiness" was Buffy
Welcome to the 25th thread dedicated to one of the greatest couples of all time. ...Buffy Summers, Vampire Slayer, and Angel, the vampire....  ♥Two souls who were born to hate each other, but destined to love♥  "Gosh. Buffy&Angel. Where do I start? I freaking LOVE them.. really more than I can express into words. They were my very first ship from the tender age of twelve so they've pretty much been a part of me for the past decade. I grew up with Buffy&Angel showing me, not only how unconditional love can be, but that there is such a thing as a "soulmate", the person who will love you like no other and will always be there for you no matter what. In my eyes, their love story is just about the most powerful story ever told. I've never seen anything like it and I highly doubt I will find anything that comes close. Their story isn't just tragic and epic but it's.... out of this world. How many people can say that their love almost caused the world to end? Their love has NO bounds.. it can move mountains....and even though they were born to hate each other.. vampire slayer.. vampire.. they were destined to love one another. They are soulmates always and forever and NO ONE can ever convince me that these two aren't the greatest couple of all time. For me the Buffy&Angel story is the defenition of love. No matter what happend in the end it came always down to them. Their love was forbidden and they tried to stay away but their feelings were stronger. Buffy had to kill him but he came back and they still loved each other. Buffy wanted to save his life by risking her own life. Angel wanted Buffy to have a better life and broke up with her but they still loved each other. Angel gave up his humanity to save Buffy's life. Angel came back to Buffy when she needed him the most. The first thing they did when she came back from death was meet each other. Even though they were with other people their love for each other was always present. I can't say I miss them since I'm still in the process of watching their scenes for the first time but I know I'll miss them soon. *sigh* They can really get to a person. __________________

I don't know if I've ever posted here, chances are that I have once or twice but I'm flaky like that when it comes to posting. Anyway, a couple days ago I was in the sinking ships thread and these two came flooding back to me. A lot of couples I've shipped I never really remember when it started. But I totally remember for these two.
I pretty much grew up in Korea, on the military network/channel thing. One American channel and I don't think they started airing Buffy there until I was about to move here. I had just turned 13 and was visiting my grandparents in Florida. I don't even think I saw the whole episode, these are conservative and wouldn't buy me the Night World books by L.J. Smith because they didn't agree with it's contents, so I kind of had to be sneaky about it. It was the Angel episode, where Buffy finds out that Angel is a vampire. Still an awesome episode. But I knew that I wanted to see more of the saga that would be Buffy and Angel at the time. So when I got back home to Korea I immediately went on the internet to catch up. Now remember, this was when everybody had dial-up and nobody but the military probably had dsl/cable internet. No torrents, or napster, or youtube. Yes, I don't know how I survived that either. (It's kinda sad I'm at the age where I can say stuff like that now.) This couple is also how I got addicted to spoilers. Because it was all spoilers for me, already aired for the rest of you lucky non-military bratters. Catching up on it all, which took an extremely short time of doing, at the risk of sounding pathetic, was so great and heartbreaking all at the same time. Even knowing what was going to happen to Angel at the end of season 2 didn't soften the blow for me at all. Watching it was so much more heartbreaking then reading about it. Especially seeing these two lead up to one of the purest and deepest kind of love that can only be written in fiction. And not because she's a vampire slayer and he's a vampire. That was just icing on the already incredibly well made cake. I didn't realize that this post was going to be so long when I started it. I just wanted to pop in and show my love and then it all came seriously flooding back to me. And that's part of what makes this couple one of the greats. Even 10 years later (OMG!!! Has it really been that long) I still feel the same about them now as I did then. Honestly, if you could've seen my bedroom wall then it would've been creepy.  |

Yay, new thread!
Seriously, I stopped watching Buffy on a regular basis when Angel got his own show and only tuned in when Buffy was on Angel and vice versa. From season 3 onwards, Buffy and Angel started to make the show for me, it was as simple as that. __________________
