Yeah, & I think she really fit the role at a fashion magazine... it really bugs me that she took over her mother's company, after she figured out that that's exactly what she didn't want

Honestly, I'm not surprised..at the end, they didn't care about her as a character ..they didn't care about her growth, development, maturity..they didn't care about any of that. All the progress she had made was trashed b/c they only cared about propping you know who...and they always used her to do that.

I stopped watching after I heard what happened to DB but I'm sure that her choosing to take over her mother's company had to do something with that right? If not, then nevermind..

ICA, Blair ending up with a career that she said she didn't want was just more proof that the writers had completely given up with her

I can't remember for sure, I think her mother first offered her the company in the s5 finale, but I never watched that episode in full. Wouldn't surprise me if Blair took the offer, because if she was going to be with Chuck again, she felt like she might have to be able to match him in business...

Blair's dreams, goals and ambitions were the furthest things from their mind by that point. The only time the writers showed any care for her was during her time with Dan.

I'm sure accepting that offer was just one of the many things that she will end up regretting until she eventually finds her way back to Dan.

Definitely, she's gonna wake up one day & realize that everything she's done, she's done trying to be a version of herself that she thinks everyone else wants her to be, & not actually done what makes her happy

So true, they did her so dirty. She was nothing more than a "prop" in that other relationship (and a person he used to make himself feel better ), and Blair truly deserved better. Dan actually treated her like she deserved to be treated, and always encouraged her to do better and follow her dreams, not settle etc.

A prop is exactly the right word for it. Blair was her true self when she was with Dan - Leighton herself said that

I was always surprised with how much of a prop Blair was considering she was supposed to be one of the leading characters. But I guess that was a point in time where it was always about the man. (Only time this wasn't true was her time with Dan ofcourse which is one of the reasons I loved it so much.) I'm glad story telling has evolved in the recent years.
