I'm so excited about this thread being so active! The thread at the GG board is doing well, too - it's never on the second page. :woot:

I love the fact that dair is finally getting recognized....i was such a lonely DB fan back in season 1...but now it's grown so much :)

and ITA about the discussion in the previous thread. Build up is key and people who say it proves how they DON'T belong together are seriously a little deluded, js. Jeez.

And I also agree that the only reason people hate Dair so much is because they actually fear them being an actual obstacle for their favorite ship. I hate prop relationships. I always say this, but I'll say it as it relates to this show as well, considering it is used ALL THE TIME. When a couple is made as a prop for a different couple, IMO it cheapens the couple they're propping. It's like there is no better and more original way to write them that they have to make them look good from how bad the other couple looks. i see this time and time again on TV shows and i seriously don't understand it. I mean there are always differences in couples, but when the writers go out of their way for a character or a couple to be OOC in order to make another couple look better, it pisses me off so much!
It's like the episode on GG where Dan tells Serena if she were his GF, he would quit his job. I felt like they were trying to prove a point where Dan is this amazing guy who would quit his job for Serena and this guy isn't as selfless or wtvr. It was lame to me.

I agree, I hate prop relationships too. And GG is the master of it..they have this ability to turn any relationship completely upside down in order to benefit the other pairing. As much as I loved and adored Pacey/Joey, they did this with Pacey/Andie which was so unfair and so uncalled for. I really hope DB doesn't suffer this fate but knowing GG, I can't be too happy. That being said, the chance for any DB interaction, I will LOVE.
