Couples you dislike #117 ~ Because we want NO PART of these bad romances.
I hate to bring in the always fabulously fierce Lady Gaga into this mess but I thought it's an appropriate title. ;)
Post away! (And remember, play nice and no baiting peeps.) |

Pucas/Seyton: One of the biggest doormats combined with one of the most selfish people to ever disgrace my tv screen.
Pucas/Brooke: Was a complete waste of her time. Annie/Anyone: I'll never understand why the men of 90210 are so in love with her. Damon/Elena: He killed her boyfriends best friend, emotionally abused her best friend, tried to kill both of her best friends, killed her brothers girlfriend and turned her etc etc ETC.... am I the only one who thinks it would be a bit of a backwards step for Elena? Damon/Bonnie: The reasons above plus the fact that there is no chemistry or anything remotely interesting about them. I know people loved them in the books but it's completely different onscreen. Plus Bonnie and Elena are far too similar. Cate/Baze: I've nothing against the idea of them in the future but I thought the cheating was lame and unnecessary in the pilot and took away from both of their characters. |
Sameee. Can't ship Annie with ANYONE. She's THAT annoying lmao.

Hmm, who do I hate... Buffy/Riley from Buffy for a start. but then nobody likes them. Riley was a complete dullard in series 4 and a complete douche in series 5. Still, I could tolerate them, unlike the eye-burningly horrible Buffy/Spike. Sorry Spuffers, it just makes my skin crawl. Horrible, abusive, unhealthy, and an insult to a character I once loved. Oh, and Willow/Xander - great as friends, horribly awkward as a couple. Glad they dropped that quickly.
Moving away from the Buffy front, Jack/Gwen from Torchwood. It feels like they were just thrown together because they were the two leads, despite their complete lack of chemistry and the fact that they are already with Ianto and Rhys respectively. From Merlin, I'd have to say Gwen/Lancelot and to an extent, Gwen/Arthur. Gwen/Lancelot is just horrible trite and cliche, their dialogue sounds like it came straight from the diary of a hormonal 14 year old. I can tolerate Gwen/Arthur, but it still doesn't feel right to me. It annoys me, first because it's only happening because the legend says so. I liked how series one just said "******* the legend, we're doing it this way". Then series 2 went "******* orginality, lets just copy and paste the legend". Also, they had to completely change all the established characters and relationships to make it work. Gwen was cute, shy and stuttering in series 1, then suddenly she gained a shedload of feistiness from nowhere, just so she could be 'the only one that told him off'. Additionally, because in series 1 that role had been shared by Merlin and Morgana, they had to completely change that in series 2. Arthur regressed to treating Merlin like dirt, and Merlin was suddenly completely subservient, rather than calling him a prat like he should. And Arthur and Morgana just hardly spoke to each other throughout the whole series. Even if they decided against making Morgana his love interest, the two should still have some sort of interaction - they're practically siblings for god's sake! So yeah, Arthur/Gwen isn't terrible in its own right, but its effect on the world around it makes it so. |
