I've finally caught up with the latest Castle episode and...
Seriously, the level of the writing for this show never ceases to amaze me.

Castle/my screen
This is the one show that is always a pleasure for me to watch. I'm so, so invested in all the characters, but when I start watching an episode I rarely am nervous about the way they will be handled. I just lay back and enjoy the narration, because I'm confident in the writers knowing what they're doing. Even if I don't like some of their choices, I know that everything will make sense in the end, and that the ride no matter what will be good.

Kevin Ryan/life
Seamus really was amazing this episode and I'm so glad that Ryan had his chance to shine.


“So what, we just write the name of Jane’s killer in a file and let them walk free? That makes us clerks not cops.”

Ryan/Esposito
One of the best bromances ever.



I loved them undercover. And the scene with Beckett scolding them, and Castle taking pictures in the background, was priceless. Mom was definitely not happy.


Beckett/Ryan
They truly are like sister and brother. It was clear in the episode just how much Ryan looks up to her and how much she cares about him. I hope their friendship will be explored more.




Castle/Beckett/Ryan/Esposito
These four may not be blood related, but there is no doubt that they are family. The way they constantly have each other's back is too endearing for words.

Rick Castle/life
This character underwent one of the most amazing character arcs I've ever seen on tv. He still is himself, the funny writer who can crack ill-timed jokes and have the weirdest intuitions, and yet he has grown so much since the first season. I felt for him, how lost he looked when he thought he couldn't be of any help for his friends. And yet again I was struck by how much of an amazing friend and partner this man is.





Kate Beckett/life
Episodes like this remind me why I love this character so much. Kate is extremely savvy and professional, and I am so glad that the writers chose not to just follow the stereotype of the tough and bitchy female cop with her. She has so many layers, and such a warm heart. I loved how she felt for Ryan and how she was there for him throughout the episode. And I was struck by the scene where Esposito was mocking her for acting like a boss. I know it was a joke, because she truly is the queen of going rogue herself, but she actually reminded me so much of Montgomery in that scene.



Castle/Beckett
This episode was more focused on Ryan than it was on them (and rightly so) and yet he writers were able as always to include little moments that underlined their connection so beautifully. Like, can I just stop and appreciate the fact that in the end she was the one to tell him what he needed to hear in order to regain his confidence, exactly when he needed to hear it?



I love his little smile after her words. I love the way they always support each other no matter what.


So married couple, and so adorable.

Mary/Matthew [Downton Abbey]



Oh my heart. I love that after basically being in denial over her feelings for Matthew for so long, she finally gave in to her feelings. And her saying that she thinks that she's been in love with him for far longer than she thought was great. I just don't know what it is, but they're so entrancing when they're together and I love how they flirt and banter with each other. And he proposed. I know it didn't exactly end well for them, but I still hold out hope they end up together eventually.
