Me too. And it always only happens with my replies to this thread because it takes me a while to type everything out and then there's that dreaded error message. Dammit.

Aw, you're better than me. I'm such a hater. I completely don't blame you though, it's frustrating as a viewer and shipper to essentially have your ship thrown down the drain just because TPTB are hung up on an idea of a couple that is not relevant or makes any sense anymore. I feel like Emily is only ever truly happy with either Nolan or Aiden around and I never felt that connection when it came to her and Jack. So which begs the question: why are the showrunners insistent on shoving JE down our throats when it clearly doesn't make sense for them to be together now?

I could even buy them slowly becoming friends again after her huge betrayal and after Jack has had time to process everything and heal and then slowly developing feelings for each other again (and have it be evident through their actions, not just words) but that frankly has not happened at all. I think TPTB realised they are running out of time (since the show is close to being cancelled I feel) and hence just decided to speed things up with JE.

I completely agree with you, as always. Nolan has always been somewhat of an outcast but with Emily by his side, you can see the level of confidence he has now because he knows that he has someone who he can rely on. Always. They saved each other, in so many ways and I honestly can't see one surviving without the other. Emily was so sad when she was finalising her plan to disappear with Aiden because it meant leaving Nolan behind. (I did like his idea of being her cousin so that he could visit her more often though ) Which is why though I feel that even though it probably seems like he needs her more, she would be lost without him as well.

I don't get David's motivation at all as well, his characterisation in particular has been all over the place and I feel now that they should never have brought him back into the picture. At least that would have meant that Emily's memories of him would have been preserved. If he really had Emily's well being in mind, he woud heed her pleading to just leave and start a new life instead of dragging her into more ****. TPTB evidently is trying to drag out the finale but come on, it still needs to make sense.

Exactly. I've been in this boat many times before, since all of my ships were doomed, but I always remained optimistic. I guess sometimes you just lose your cool after being screwed over multiple times What I can't stomach is when the writers don't show us the simple respect we deserve for being devoted viewers for so many years.
And yeah, I don't get it either. I wrote that long post about meant to be couples and how they stop making sense after other characters step into the picture in Couples you dislike, I don't know if you read it, but that's basically what my point was about It's Tptb's job to make decisions that will impact the plot and the characters positively so the story remain compelling and intriguing, not repetitive and dull. Instead, they keep dragging out irrelevant dysfunctional ships that don't work together and make them seem like a huge love because they are meant to be. I'm tired of being told that unless I broke up with a person million times, or went through lies, abuse, pain, struggles and misunderstanding, it's not love or a real relationship.

So true. I was told once that the people who don't like Jemily are either bitter Aimily fans or delusional Nemily shippers. Sorry to break it to you pal, but there is nothing more delusional on this show than your ship JE were always words, epic love proclamations and nothing more. The whole relationship is based on delusional ideas both have about each other. Jack still sees the little innocent girl in her which she is no longer is, and Emily sees in him her lost childhood which she will never get back. This and only this is why they are so drawn to each other and think that they have something real and that it can work.

I don't know if it's wrong to still have hope at this point, but I'm crossing my fingers for Emily to reject Jack and tell him to move on already. Or at least tell him that she needs time to think and then reject him in the last episode of the show

And the funny thing is that Emily is an outcast too. Like Nolan once said, underneath the though bravado there is just a lost and broken girl inside. She was as mistreated and abused as Nolan during her youth and she was as lonely too. She still thinks of herself as a loner, thinks that she's got no one, but it's not true. She has Nolan and she will always have him. Wish she stopped taking him for granted

Tbh I hated that SL with Emily's departure. I was so pissed that she's chosen Aiden over Nolan, the person who would do anything for her, and she was just willing to leave him behind, knowing that he's got no one else. You could literally see that Nolan was falling apart and would give anything to be at Aiden's place, but covering it all with jokes as always. I just wanted to grab Emily and shake her, so she could see how much he was hurting. I was really happy when this disastrous idea didn't work out.
And she did it again in s4, but this time it was David. Who absolutely did not deserve to be her priority. I don't care if he is her father, he is a trashy father. And Nolan was almost crying again at the thought of losing her. Will it ever stop. Will she ever ask HIM to leave with her. He's the only one who truly deserves to be by her side.

Yeah, I feel like David wasn't as perfect and pure as Emily remembered him. Or maybe those years of running and hiding changed him, but still Emily didn't need to see that side of her father. That idillyc memory of him was all she had and now it's gone.

And I agree with you about Emily always leaving Nolan behind...if we can't ever have Nemily happen, the only other ending I would be OK with is if Emily ends up with no romantic partner but decides to finally leave the Hamptons with her best friend (I guess David can tag along too if he wants).

I totally agree. This is the only ending I can accept, and if they leave together, we can also hope that something will happen between them at some point

Ahh thanks for the tip, I'll try that from now on. Just still a little paranoid so I'll copy everything before I post anyway.

That really sucks. I think I've been pretty lucky ship-wise but once in a while, my shipper heart is crushed to bits by TPTB (coughDaircough) and EN is no exception. Their relationship has not been tainted so far thankfully but at the same time, I hate the notion of a relationship having to be so complex and full of ups and downs to show that it's true love. So many shows seem to advocate that in one way or another and it's frankly sickening. I haven't read your post yet but I'll go back to look and read it later.

TBH, I'm usually a sucker for JE type of relationships but those are usually IMO more fleshed out and there's actual buildup before the romance is hinted at etc. So even I can't buy the nonsense that TPTB is trying to shove down our throats because I just don't get why we're supposed to ship two people just because they shared a few summers together eons ago. Forget the fact that they're such different people now, forever altered by what happened to them.

I would prefer Emily ending up alone (with Nolan by her side, but of course) if it means that JE does not end up being end game. I feel like that would be the WORST outcome ever, for real.

I just love that EN understand each other inside out - like no one else does. Yes they really are two broken people deep down and somehow they help each other get by.

IMO she was trying so hard to move on/start afresh and she probably was oblivious in a way as to how Nolan couldn't function without her around (since she seemed to think he could move on without her). I would love it for the ending to be completely different from that line of thinking and her asking Nolan to disappear together with her. That would be the best case scenario.

Though I'd prefer if David not come along.

Oh I am not I usually fall for unexpected ships, not those that shows want us to like. And the type hated each other - turned to friends - turned to lovers is my favorite! Also, I'm sucker for unrequited love stories! I guess it's cause they are so easy to relate

I loved how some fan asked Elena Satine on Twitter if she ships Jemily, and she went like "Yeah, who doesn't?" and there were tones of responses below "I don't" that was like a music to my ears. Also made me wondering if the writers are aware that a lot of people don't want Jemily as endgame. Actually, kinda interesting, how many Jemily fans are out there. They definitely seem to be the most vocal at this point.

Yeah, I agree with you, Emily is always oblivious to Nolan's feelings. She doesn't realize the depth of his love for her, it makes me sad sometimes. Romantic or not, no one is going to care about her as much as him Ever.
