Well that sucks

Hey guys This week on TVD Tyler had more than 1 measly scene! lol Then none will be pleased with the ending I'm sure (I'm not).

So this week on TVD . . .

The ep opens with Elena dreaming about meeting Stefan in a different way (over a runaway page in her journal) and seeing a car almost hit him. Caroline is already awake in their dorm and asks if she’s okay, but she says she just had a crazy dream.

Enzo and Damon are hanging out again and shooting pool at the Salvatore mansion while they talk about Damon’s Elena woes. Damon says they are just taking a break, getting some space. And Enzo dubs it the “friends phase” where he’ll get to be friends with her and watch her move on with her life with a new boyfriend. Irritated, Damon brings up Enzo missing “girlfriend” Maggie, saying maybe he hasn’t found her yet b/c she knows how insufferable he is and she doesn’t want to be found. Enzo claims he hasn’t found her yet b/c the Travelers, his only lead, decided to spontaneously combust recently before giving Enzo what they promised (Maggie’s location in return for the death of the second to last doppelganger, Tom Avery). Damon says Enzo’s here annoying him now, and Enzo says they can always go kill people, though he supposed that’s what got Damon into this Elena mess in the first place.

Caroline and Elena are somewhere, but they don’t tell us where and Caroline says her mom (Liz) doesn’t appear to be there yet so she’s going to go look for her. Since they are meeting Liz, they are assumedly at The Grill as it’s the only place to go in MFs lol Elena says sure and falls into a daydream about being with Stefan in an alternate reality again. Him walking her to her door (though this house of her’s in this daydream isn’t the Gilbert home from before she stupidly burned it down, it’s a completely different home) after a movie, just talking with her. They agree they should do this again sometime and kiss. The porch light flicker on and off and Elena says that’s her dad and she should go inside. So it’s like she’s really dreaming about things being super different, not just different as in she and Stefan met differently, but the rest of her life was still the same (i.e. dead parents, same house, etc.). During the scene, the background piano music that played during the scene when Tyler first kissed Caroline on her porch (and several of their many other amazing scenes) plays in the background and it broke my heart just to hear it again That was some of my favorite background music (and always fit Forwood scenes so well too). Anyway, Elena watches Stefan walk away from her house and hears Caroline’s disembodied voice telling her Liz is 5 mins away. Elena snaps out of it to find herself sitting at a table across from Caroline (she was standing at the door when she started spacing out). She asks Caroline how she got there and Caroline tells her she walked, while giving her a wary look. Caroline asks her if she just had one of those “dreams” right now, so Elena must have told her about them off camera already. Elena claims it didn’t feel like a dream at all, but completely real. Caroline says it’s weird and then tries to busy herself drinking her coffee, but Elena can tell she’s itching to say something so Elena tells her to just come out with it. Caroline says it’s psych 101, or even more rudimentary than that. Elena broke up with Damon and starts fantasizing about Stefan. Caroline is clearly implying she really is still in love with Stefan and subconsciously wants to be with him again, it’s as simple as that (though Caroline doesn’t seem bent out of shape about it despite the bits of Steroline the writers have been dropping in here and there). Elena says it’s more than that though and mentions how her parents were still alive. It’s more than just fantasizing about Stefan, it’s dreaming up a whole different reality. Stefan happens to call Caroline’s phone at that same moment. She’s asks what’s up and he says “Well, you know how sometimes you feel crazy and you call me and I tell you that you’re not crazy?” Caroline says yes even though most of the time she is (crazy). He then tells her he needs her to tell him he’s not crazy b/c he was walking to his car and he almost got run over b/c he was having a vision of Elena. Surprised by his confession, Caroline tells him he’s not crazy at all, that something is going on.

Bonnie is walking around campus at Whitmore trying to call Jeremy and is still getting no answer. She leaves him a message asking him to please call her already and when she hangs up everything gets colored funny and soundless and she turns around to see Sheila, her Grams, standing there. Grams tells her she heard the Travelers did a number on Bonnie last night. Bonnie points out that Grams doesn’t look so good (she looked the same to me), and her grandmother tells her that something isn’t right on “the other side,” that she and the other witches thing the Travelers did what they did last night to try and overwhelm Bonnie so that someone already on the other side could sneak back through to our side. Whoever it was is hiding from them and now the other side is, like, falling apart. The ground they are standing on literally shakes and Bonnie asks her Grams what’s going on over here. Sheila doesn’t know, but whatever the Travelers have done has got the witches scared.

Over at casa de Lockwood, Liv is prepping Tyler, Matt, and Jeremy. She tells them that the Travelers are here and that their goal is to get rid of them, but before she puts her faith in the “three stooges” lol, she needs to make sure none of them are harboring a passenger. Liv holds out the special knife that dispels a passenger from a host and Matt doesn’t like that she wants them to stab themselves (though Katherine did it to Matt before and he lived, which she said it only kills a passenger in a host’s body and won’t also kill the host body itself, though I imagine it still hurts), and Jeremy says to just shut up and do it. Matt says “says the one with the Traveler-proof head.” Tyler volunteers, and again Matt says “says the hybrid who heals.” Tyler points out that he has the magic ring that brings him back from the dead so to quit bitching lol Tyler tries to be all bad a*s alpha male and stares Liv in the eye while he slowly stabs himself in the gut, then pulls it back out and hands it to her. She looks satisfied, wipes it clean, and brings it over to Matt. She puts it up against his shoulder and tells him it shouldn’t hurt or go too deep here and that she can help him if he wants, but he silently covers her hand with his and runs it through, keeping eye contact with her the whole time too. Liv says “so much testosterone, so few brain cells.” Lol Jeremy tells her now that she knows they are all clean she needs to tell them what they are doing here. She tells him they have to do that to about 100 other people (use that knife to stab people). She says that the truth is, her coven has been tracking the Travelers for thousands of years. They are always on the move, but there have been a few times in history when they have stopped to gather. The freaky thing is that nobody ever notices b/c one-by-one they take over a town 1 person at a time as passengers inside of the townsfolk, and Liv’s coven thinks they are doing it in MFs (which is actually kind of a surprise b/c this show used to be all about MFs, it’s people, it’s history, it’s goofy events lol, and now we never hear about it even though half the cast still lives there. Shoot, Mr. Bennet, Bonnie’s dad, died forever ago and we have no idea what the town did about replacing yet another dead mayor. They didn’t bother to show us any of that.). While Liv is talking, we are seeing 3 different Travelers approach 3 different people in MFs and jump into their bodies. One of them, an older black gentleman, jumps into Liz Forbes.

We head back over to the Salvatore mansion where Enzo and Damon just finished another game of pool. Enzo suggests they move on to step 2 of Elena-less Damon, and Damon points out that him repeatedly bringing up Elena’s name defeats the purpose of him trying to forget about her. Damon’s phone starts to ring and, speak of the devil, it’s Elena.
The scene switches back to Elena sitting at The Grill waiting for Damon to answer his phone. Caroline sees Matt bussing a table and walks over to him. She asks if he’s seen her mom, b/c she was supposed to meet them there and now she’s not texting Caroline back. He tells her he hasn’t. Caroline says if he sees Liz to please tell her something came up. She walks back over to see that Elena is still waiting for Damon to pick up.
We see Damon send the call to voicemail and he tells Enzo “Damon 1, temptation, 0." We see Caroline at The Grill pick her phone up and a moment later at the Salvatore mansion we see Enzo’s phone ring. He looks at the number then back at Damon and says “Temptation 1, Enzo ….” He trails off as he answers Caroline’s call with a “Hello, Gorgeous.” She huffs and tells him to tell Damon that there’s something going on with Elena and Stefan. Damon can hear her through the phone and takes it from Enzo and asks her what she wants. She asks if he remembers how they all kind of laughed about the universe supposedly drawing Stefan and Elena together, b/c it’s actually happening. Now that Tom Avery, the only other Stefan doppelganger other than Stefan, is dead, Stefan and Elena are the last pair and that might explain why they are having “vision type situations of each other.” Damon asks what that’s supposed to mean and Enzo tells him he knows what she’s not saying, that they are having sex dreams. Elena (they all have vampire hearing and can hear each other through the phone) insists they are not sex dreams, and Caroline, trying to soften the blow, says they are more like “romance dreams.” lol Damon says he doesn’t need to know that and wants to know where Stefan is. Caroline tells him he went back to the Traveler camp to see if anyone is still there that could tell him what’s going on. Enzo says good luck with that, but Caroline points out that it’s their only lead and that all they know is that: Tom is dead, the Travelers committed mass ritualistic suicide last night, and now Stefan and Elena, who are clearly no longer together, are having intense visions of each other. Damon tells Caroline to find a witch and get her over there so they can figure out what the hell is going on.

Over at Lockwood manor, there is a knock on the door. Jeremy answers and is surprised to see Bonnie standing there. She says surprise then says not really b/c she left him a voicemail and a text that she was coming. She moves to enter but he actually holds out his hand and makes her take a step back as he tells her he got her messages it’s just that he’s been busy moving “and stuff.” Bonnie says “Right . . . all your stuff.” Jeremy gives her a weird look (like she doesn’t have a right to be irritated and suspicious at this point) and she shrugs it off and tells him she needs his help, that something is going on on the other side. She tells him about how the witches are worried that someone got out and that b/c he could see ghost she was hoping he could help. She doesn’t get to finish her sentence b/c Liv comes into the room telling him to get back to work. Bonnie is surprised to see her and Liv insists it’s not what it looks like, that Jeremy hired her to help him with math. Bonnie clearly doesn’t buy it and asks if that was before or after she lied to her face and tried to kill his sister. She asks Jeremy to tell her what’s going on. He tells her he can’t, that he’s got this handled, and that he needs her to trust him. I don’t understand why he “can’t” tell Bonnie wants going on, she’s suffered through plenty of supernatural stuff before and is part of the group, and all this is going to do is make him lose Bonnie for, what, the third time? Pretty stupid, but whatever. Bonnie walks away without another word (never mind he never finished listening to why SHE, his own g/f, was there asking for his help…), and as soon as Jeremy shuts the door behind her he turns to Liv and tells her he told her he didn’t want to keep any secrets. She tells him it’s nothing personal, but in order for them to sneak up on the Travelers they need to not know what they are doing. She already broke her rule once to bring in Matt and Tyler and she’s not doing it again (like, what’s one more person, seriously). Tyler happens to walk in the room at the moment on the phone with Matt. He asks where he is, and Matt tells him he’s at the sheriff’s office but she’s not there. He knows it’s probably nothing, but if he was going to take over a town he’d start at the top. Tyler tells him not to do anything stupid until he gets there, and Matt reminds him he can’t do anything period until Tyler brings the Traveler Knife so to hurry up. He hangs up and a female voice repeats “Traveler Knife?” behind him. He whirls around to see Liz standing there (the idiot). She asks who he was talking to and he lies and tells her it was Caroline. He goes on to start telling her how Caroline had been waiting for her, but stops when she pulls her gun on him. She walks towards him asking about this “Traveler Knife” and he circles around her saying she must have misheard. She sets the gun down on the desk, and he relaxes for a moment, until she quickly grabs a letter opener and stabs him in the throat. She says she didn’t misunderstand, and he falls to the ground bleeding to death.

Bonnie is walking to her car when she suddenly sees Matt standing behind it. Surprised to see him, she asks what’s going on and he tells her he’s dead and that the sheriff’s in trouble and she has to let Jeremy know, he’ll know what she means. Then he tells her he’s sorry he has to do this to her and he grabs her shoulders to pass through to the other side. The other side is for supernatural beings but I guess as long as Matt is in possession of the ring he’s considered supernatural and that like all supernatural beings, he gets sent there too, at least temporarily until the ring pulls his spirit back. Last time we saw him die (when he was in the woods with Jeremy and human Katherine running from Silas and Silas killed him) he ran into Bonnie as she was currently dead and living on the other side and she warned him that each time he dies he ends up farther and farther from his body so that it takes longer and longer to find it, and that when he returns he won’t remember what happened while dead. Anyway, Matt’s spirit comes to lying on the ground of a graveyard on the other side and it’s the same washed out color as it was earlier when Bonnie was talking to Sheila, her Grams. There are random people sitting around and Matt asks if the guy closest to him can see him. He nods, so Matt asks if he’s a witch, but he shakes his head. Matt asks then how (well b/c you’re all dead I would assume), and a familiar voice from behind tells him everything here’s a bit topsy-turvy. Matt turns around to see Kol, the Original of all people, leaning against a tree. Kol gives an insipid smile and tells him it’s good to be seen. Kol reminds Matt who he is (and that he was pointlessly murdered by Jeremy Gilbert, to which I think we all disagree given how he was trying to kill the Gilbert kids at the time lol), and Matt says he remembers him but he doesn’t get why they can see each other, that he thought the point of this place was to live out your afterlife in solitude (that’s the first I heard that b/c I thought Lexi said before the dead supernaturals run into each other sometimes, it just seems like they can’t keep the contact going, it happens by accident, and Grams has said on more than one occasion to Bonnie when the veil was down that the witches on the other side were mad about this or that, but she shouldn’t be able to see them to know that given what Matt just said, and then there was the time I just mentioned, when Matt’s spirit ran into Bonnie’s, and the time Matt drowned himself at the high school pool to talk to his sister Vicky’s spirit, and how Vicky and Anna were able to see each other in 3rd season when they were jointly hunting Jeremy, etc. Again, the writers have gotten sloppy with the ongoing storyline and previously established rules.). Kol explains that according to the witches, somebody tore his way out of here and now the whole other side is unraveling, not that it makes a difference to Matt since he’s just visiting. Matt mentions Vicky, explaining she’s his sister since Kol wouldn’t know (or care really) and that if he can see Kol he can see her too.

Enzo opens the door at the Salvatore’s to see Elena and Caroline standing there. He says he thought they were bringing a witch and Caroline throws her coat at him and says they said they’d call her, not that they’d pick her up. Elena asks where Damon is and he walks in. They stare at each other uncomfortably and Enzo mentions getting a drink in the study to which Caroline volunteers to join him. They try to make small talk (mostly about Damon getting a pool table) and we see Caroline in the other room cringing at their awkward attempt as she listens in with her vamp hearing. She tells Enzo they should do something and he suggests letting them amuse them as they try to make small talk instead of ripping off each others clothes off with their teeth like they want. He holds out a drink to Caroline and she takes it. Elena asks Damon if they can not do this, this weird awkwardness. She asks if they can just be friends and back in the study Enzo says ouch, she used the “f” word lol Caroline asks why that’s a problem as she thought that’s what this was (Damon and Elena broke up and were supposed to try to be “friends”). Enzo says it was, but the wordings never been used until now. Caroline asks why that matters and Enzo says b/c until it’s officially out there there’s still hope and hope can trick you into all sorts of unrealistic scenarios. Caroline asks if he means Maggie, then asks what happened. He says the Travelers forgot to tell him where Maggie was (if they even really knew) before they lit themselves on fire. Caroline points out that even if Maggie is still alive she’d be really old. He tells her that 70 yrs of captivity and hers was the face he clung onto. The thought of one day getting out and seeing her again kept him going. He then looks at Caroline seriously and tells her he doesn’t want to date Maggie, he just wants to thank her.

Back with Damon and Elena, Damon comes right out and mentions the “sex dreams” she’s having of Stefan. She tells him she doesn’t know what’s going on or where they are coming from, just that she keeps getting random snippets of her and Stefan together in some alternate reality. He says he’s going to regret asking, but are fantasy Elena and Stefan really, really, really happy? Elena doesn’t really answer, but Damon gets that the answer is “yes.” So he tells her that as her friend, he will state the obvious: that the prophecy (the one Silas talked about way back when earlier this season) states that the two of them are fated to be together. There’s a loud knock at the door, interrupting them. Damon goes to answer it and Luke is on the other side. He gives him a quick once over, tells Luke they are all good on Bibles lol, and goes to shut the door, but Luke stops him. Luke introduces himself and tells him he’s Liv’s twin brother, to which Damon asks if it’s possible for there to be just 1 of a person around here lol Elena asks where Liv is and Luke tells her she's busy.

Over at the sheriff’s station, Liz is walking out to her car when Tyler approaches her, but everything seems normal. She calls him by name and seems to know him. Asks if he’s staying out of trouble then tells him hybrids aren’t above the law, so to keep the day drinking at The Grill (he’s still under 21) to the DL (down low) b/c it’s bad for business. He tells her will do. She tells him she’s running late and goes to leave and in a split second decision Tyler, still unsure, decides to test her one more time and tells her his mom says hi. She turns to look at him, smiles, and tells him to “give her my best.” As soon as she turns her back he grabs the Traveler Knife and stabs her. The Travelers must have done some extensive knowledge on the people they were going to possess b/c if they could access the host’s memories, the guy in Liz would have known that Carol is dead, but he didn’t. Yet he did at least know Tyler’s name, that he was a hybrid, and that he’d even been underage drinking at The Grill. That’s an awful lot to know about a guy who isn’t even dating the daughter of the lady you possessed anymore . . . And yet you bother to learn all that but then don’t know the guys mom is dead? Anyway it was a smart move on Tyler’s part. He gentle helps her to the ground telling her she’s going to be okay and that she’s safe now. Someone walks up behind him though. He turns to look at them and is startled (but we don’t see who it is).

Back at the Salvatore mansion, Luke tells Damon and Elena that his coven can’t stop the visions Elena and Stefan are having, that they aren’t bigger than the universe. He’s actually there b/c the witches need their help. He tells them that the witches believe the Traveler’s leader, Marcos, is here in MFs. Damon asks from where, and Luke replies the other side, that he’s been dead for centuries and that the witches think the fire sacrifice allowed him to escape. Elena says perfect a dead old guy with a mysterious evil plan (how refreshing, am I right? ). Caroline walks in the room at that moment and says Stefan called and says the scrap yard the Travelers had been in is completely cleaned out. And of course the witches don’t know where Marcos is. Luke asks what the visions are trying to draw Elena and Stefan together for and Elena tells him it’s for their doppelganger blood, that they need it for a prophecy. Luke points out that if the visions are trying to draw her and Stefan together, then the visions might be trying to draw them to the Travelers as well. Caroline doesn’t get it, so Enzo’s explains that the visions are like a road map and they need more clues (i.e. Elena’s Stefan fantasies aren’t over yet).

We cut to later that evening. Damon’s sitting on the front steps at his house and Elena asks what he’s doing. He says having a drink, looking at the stars, listening to the universe laugh at him lol He tells her that they were doomed from the start, that they were always going to end up here. She tells him that as soon as they find Marcos these visions will stop. He asks her then what? They’re friends? He can’t wait. She tells him she knows they are in a weird place right now, but that the universe doesn’t control anything, that it’s not real, and she proceeds to go into a Stefan vision right then lol He’s cooking for their anniversary. She goes to open a drawer to get a bottle opener for their wine before he can stop her and she sees a ring box in the drawer. She pulls out the box and tells him yes without even opening it and they start getting hot and heavy with some kissing and pronounce their love for each other. Stefan picks her up and sets her on the counter, knocking down some of the mail sitting there in the process. The camera zooms in on the address showing 4620 Walnut Dr. Mystic Falls, VA 14526. Damon calls Elena and she snaps out of it and sees the glass she’d been hold in her hands is in shards. Behind them, Enzo says “That good, eh?” Elena stands up and says that Marcos is here and that she knows where he is and gives them the address.

On the other side, Matt is searching for Vicky, but he apparently keeps ending up back in the same spot in that graveyard. Suddenly he hears Vicky answer him though and she runs up to him and embraces him. He tells her he’s here now and it’s okay, but she tells him it’s definitely not okay, that something is wrong with this place. As soon as she says it the ground starts to shake again. She tells Matt he has to get out of there and get back to his body, but he won’t leave without her and drags her with him. They fall to the ground at some point and it seems like a fierce gale is trying to pull Vicky back. Matt clings to her saying he won’t let go. She tells him she loves him, but that she’s already dead before they are pulled apart and she vanishes into the trees. Matt is left standing there alone, looking rather crushed.

Back in the land of the living, Damon and Enzo are walking up to the deserted house at 4620 Walnut Dr. They are able to enter the house, so nobody owns it or is living there. As they walk past a covered couch Enzo kindly points at it and says he wonders if this is where Stefan and Elena had crazy vision sex lol Damon give him a disgruntled look, and Enzo takes it back and says it was probably the bedroom as Stefan is rather “vanilla.” haha To Stefan’s credit, it was the kitchen counter Then he says though apparently that’s Elena’s favorite flavor. Damon threatens to staple his tongue to his chin lol But a male voice says “not in my house, please.” They turn to the next room to see a man, shrouded in shadow, sitting near a fireplace. Damon says Marcos I presume? And the man stands up to reveal a younger man (late 20s maybe) of middle eastern decent from the looks of it. He asks why they are here and Damon says that’s what he wants to know about Marcos, in addition to what he wants and why the doppelgangers are having visions of each other. He says the first two questions are complicated, but that the third is easy: he’s the reason Stefan and Elena are having visions of each other. Enzo brazenly says well would you look at that? I think we just met the universe. Marcos goes on to explain that the doppelganger lore has been warped over the centuries. Turns out, the prophecy (the one Silas told them about, about how Stefan and Elena were fated to be together) only actually states that the doppelganger blood is of use to the Travelers. Stefan and Elena are only being drawn to each other b/c of a spell Marcos himself cast. He admits he cast it 1500 years ago, but still. He had no idea where they were and as it turns out, the best way to get people to go searching for each other is the promise of true love. Marcos tells Damon to take a walk with him. Enzo tries to follow, but Marcos orders him to stay if he ever wants to find Maggie. Enzo looks unhappy about it, but obliges. So Marcos and Damon take a walk through town, with Marcos commenting on what a nice place MFs is. Damon says “oh yeah, white picket fences, block parties, uncannily high death rate.” Lol Marcos tells him he takes his home for granted. Damon tells him to get to the point so Marcos explains that 2,000 years ago, Silas and Amara cast the spell for immortality, and it created a schism in the Traveler community giving rise to the witches. Supposedly the witches tried to keep the Travelers scattered, to make them forget how powerful they can be. It started a war between the two groups that continues today. The witches apparently put a spell on the Travelers that keeps them from settling down as a tribe (hence the name “Travelers” I guess, though I don’t know what they were called before the curse then). So, whenever they did try to gather in a big group disasters always struck. Naturally the doppelgangers can fix this. Since they found them, Damon wants to know what happens next. Marcos says they simply need their blood, that the Travelers aren’t their enemies and to prove it, Marcos is going to stop their visions. Two nearby townspeople stop what they are doing and start to chant. Marcos goes on to say that the curse might stop them from gathering in their own bodies, but they’ve found ways around that (i.e. body snatching and becoming passengers in other peoples’ bodies). More townspeople start chanting nearby and Damon asks how many Travelers there are. Marcos just says “a few” before joining the chant.

In the meantime, Elena is currently having a Stefan vision, this time they are already married and have kids (so not vampires in this reality, which was my guess). Elena mentions that Jeremy is bringing a girl home this year, and Stefan says so is Damon. Elena doesn’t look thrilled but says she’s sure both ladies will be lovely. She and Stefan start to kiss and then suddenly he’s gone and their house at 4620 Walnut is the abandoned one in real life where Damon and Enzo met Marcos. A few seconds later Elena wakes up completely standing in the Salvatore mansion where she really is. Stefan is standing behind her and she asks if he saw what she had. He admits he did, and then it just stopped. Their eyes are watery, as if they might cry and Elena ask, voice sad, if that means it (the visions) is over. Stefan solemnly nods his head. Neither looks particularly happy about it. They sit down in front of the fire and talk about it. How none of it was real, how they were just seeing what they wanted to see. Elena says it was a fantasy, playing out like a movie, but it was a life they could never have (people that are dead weren’t dead, they weren’t vampires so they had kids etc.). They both agree that it still felt amazing. Stefan then says the life that they did have (when they were together) was amazing too, and it was real, not a prophecy or a spell. They fell in love for real on their own. There were ups and downs, they fought, she died, they both changed and grew, and eventually grew apart, but it was real. And that’s life. She points out that in the fantasy he couldn’t cook, to which he says but she could, then reiterates that it was a fantasy (b/c she can’t lol). Elena laughs and then Stefan tells her he will always love her, and she says that she will always love him too. She the leans her head on his shoulder and asks if he thinks if she and Damon will ever be able to talk like this, like friends (which is pretty bitchy but whatever). He says you can either be friends with someone or you can be in love with them, but he doesn’t think you can be both.

Over on the other side, Matt is still sitting on the ground upset about losing Vicky again when Kol walks up behind him telling him to get moving. Not to be insensitive, but that she was already dead, so no need to morn quite so much (though I’d like to know why Vicky couldn’t stay with Matt while he’s stuck here but Kol can come and go, can’t even say it’s a vampire thing as they were both vampires when they died). Matt asks where she went and Kol tells him he doesn’t know and quite frankly he hopes he never finds out, which is why he needs Matt back in his body shouting from the rooftops about what’s happening on the other side. Matt tells him it doesn’t matter b/c when he goes back he’s not going to remember any of this (not sure what he can do about it even if he does anyway). Kol tells him he better find a way to remember it, that he might not like Kol, but he’s not the only one over here and that if something isn’t done, what happened to Vicky is going to happen to the rest of them. Kol actually pleads with Matt then, his face a mask of fear and worry, telling him he has to go back and find a way to stop what’s happening to the other side.

Bonnie and Jeremy are sitting in the sheriff’s office waiting for Matt to come back. Jeremy chuckles then says he just realized that Bonnie’s the only one in the room the sheriff hasn’t killed lol When she doesn’t respond much to his joke, he apologizes, stating this whole thing with Liv had nothing to do with her, that he was just trying to protect Bonnie (not really sure how, Bonnie’s already dead technically and no one is after her…). Bonnie tells him like it is: that he can do what he wants to protect her, but it’s not okay to just fall off the face of the earth, especially with someone who was caught lying to her and tried to kill Elena, that he can’t be putting her in a position where she has to question him (totally fair point on her part, Jeremy has been so retarded about this whole thing). Before she can finish he says b/c of Anna and that he knows he screwed up back then, but she says she was going to say b/c she chooses to trust him and she wants to be right. Speaking of choices, Matt chooses that moment to come back from the dead. Jeremy tells him he died and came back from the other side, and Matt says he knows, he magically remembers this time! How convenient Bonnie even says that doesn’t happen. He goes on to tell them one minute he was holding Vicky, then she pushed him away and disappeared. He asks Bonnie what’s going on over there, but Bonnie says she doesn’t know.

Back over at the Salvatore mansion one more time, Damon walks into his bedroom and sees Elena sitting at the fireplace. She claims she just wanted to say thank you b/c whatever he did it worked. He said he’s sorry for tearing her away from paradise. She tells him it was paradise and he says he told her he didn’t want to know. She says but he needs to know, and goes on to tell him about the perfect life she and Stefan had. He says they can always ask Marcos to put it back (never mind it comes out of nowhere totally interrupting your life). She tells him no it wasn’t real, that the two of them are messy and complicated, but real. He says and really bad for each other, did she forget that part? She agrees but says she still needs him in her life b/c you know Elena, she should get everything she wants. Well Damon lays it down for her right then telling her he can’t be just her friend, that it’s too hard. She tries to whine about it, but he tells her he’s completely serious, that he doesn’t want to see her, or hear her voice, etc. She says if that’s what he wants, and he confirms so she says okay and walks out.

Finally we see Caroline on the phone with Tyler. She’s sitting at home with her unconscious mother telling him that she gave Liz her blood but she’s still unconscious. Tyler tells her to relax and that when this happened to Matt he was out for a long time. She asks what they are doing here and that this is their home and that they can’t let them just take over. Tyler says they won’t and not to worry b/c he’s got it handled. Caroline sincerely thanks him. He says your welcome and they hang up b/c Liz is coming to. When she asks what happened, Caroline tells her she missed lunch.

Tyler hangs up the phone and tells Marcos they’re in, that she’s oblivious (I assume he means Caroline). Marcos tells him that body isn’t a bad upgrade either, to which the passenger inside Tyler says it’s incredible (to which I second lol). From the context, calling Tyler’s body an “upgrade” I have to assume that the black guy that was in Liz jumped into Tyler after he was forced out of Liz, but when Gregor, Nadia’s Traveler boyfriend was forced out of Matt by Katherine, he died, and the same thing happened to Katherine when she was forced out of Elena, although it might have only been b/c their own bodies were dead (although I still don’t really know how Nadia got Gregor into Matt after killing Gregor’s body to gain Silas’s trust). Regardless, if pushing a passenger out of a body just leaves them able to take your body right away next, you think Liv would have said something about it >_< Anyway Marcos tells the guy in Tyler not to get used to the body b/c as soon as they finish taking over the town… the other guys says “I know, this body’s gone.” Marcos then asks if he brought it, and “Tyler” holds up the Traveler Knife, saying it’s the last one left. He hands it over to Marcos, and Marcos says it WAS the only knife left, before he throws it in the fire and melts it down. So Tyler is stuck with a passenger as of now I wouldn’t think they’ll be able to keep up the ruse about Tyler’s possession for long though b/c Liv, Jeremy, and Matt are going to realize the knife is gone and he had it last . . .

So, Tyler is now possessed by a stupid Traveler, so even though he might be in MFs and be in scenes it won't REALLY be him >_< We can never win. And who knows if they'll get him out of this, or just kill him off during this. Would have been so much better if they would have just had Caroline possessed by a Traveler when she slept with Klaus. At least then it would have made some sense . . .
