I don't know why Ted had low self esteem - he was so lovely and he had a good job and good friends - just goes to show that sometimes what is going on inside someone is different to what they show the world or that we truly don't know what people are ever really thinking.

Very true both of you and you're also right about he took the job he thought was right and had good benefits and everything but it certainly didn't fulfil him.
