He was a bit too loyal sometimes and he crossed the fine line a few times (as he did in 301 when he said some very disrespectful things about Justin ) but at least with him it was 'what you see is what you get', while Ethan came across as not being too loyal, not as a friend and not as a partner.

How do you know Ethan's not a loyal friend? :look:
We barely saw him with any friend, not to mention, best friend.

Michael is loyal to anyone but Justin!

you're sweet, Steffi. I'll make myself at home here and never go away

I couldn't come up with anything so I thought "Peach Yoghurt" is kinda neutral

WildRose 08-26-2012 11:22 AM

tftnt, Steffi, I realy love the title ;)

We didn't get to see Ethan with his friends very often but from what we saw I think it doesn't look like they were such close group of friends such as Brian and the gang. they were quite snoby and I'm not sure if they could develop much loyelty to each other... plus I think Ethan was mostly loyal to his music and his carrer so much so that he could never be loyal and show true love to another person which is rather sad, really.

I don't think Micheal wasn't loyal to Justin. He didn't like the fact Justin became more present in Brian's life, that's for sure, and his major loyalty was to Brian but he's the one who took care of Justin back in early S1 and then later on in S2 he was even able to bond with Justin to create Rage...

soulmatejunkee 08-26-2012 11:32 AM

For me Michael isn't loyal to Justin.
It might change in Season 5 - but until then I was already done with this wannabe-pseudo friendship.

And as you said, the friends we saw didn't seem to be so close to Ethan. So we don't know anything about him. I mean, he doesn't seem to have a real close friend, like Michael/Brian or Daphne/Justin, so we can't say that he's not a loyal friend.

WildRose 08-26-2012 11:35 AM

I don't think what Justin and Micheal had was a pseudo relationship but I can def say that about what Justin and Ethan had...

soulmatejunkee 08-26-2012 11:51 AM

Hm no, I think Ethan and Justin really wanted that relationship. We could see it wouldn't work out, it was obvious, but I can see them not seeing it.

With Michael it's different. He was never Justin's "fan". "Rage" just happened and nothing more. To me they never had been real friends. Sorry.

I think first and foremost Michael was Brian's best friend and then he was Justin's friend so at the end of the day Michael was going to be more loyal to Brian than to Justin.

WildRose 08-26-2012 11:03 PM

Of course Micheal was more loyal to Brian and i guess he would always feel as though Justin 'took' Brian from him. We can hear a slight bitterness in his voice when he told Hunter he shouldn't try to impress Brian because he's already got a boyfriend for example, but I think he was trying to be a friend to Justin and that they had a few things in common.

I think they would have got along for Brian's sake, Michael would have been nice to please Brian and Justin would have tolerated Michael. Michael needed to make nice with Justin for Rage, it's a lot easier to come up with a storyline, but it takes someone with great talent to bring it to life...Michael knew that.

did you read comic books when you were young(er)?
do you still read comic books or mangas?

would you read Rage?

Manu9 08-27-2012 01:50 PM

I've never read comic books, they're not my kind of thing. But I would love to read Rage

About Michael and Justin... I think they could have been good friends if there hadn't been Brian and Michael's feelings for him. I don't think Michael and Justin ever really disliked each other, but the jealousy created lots of problems in the beginning. But in S5, Michael became quite loyal to Justin, even more than to Brian.

galesgirl645 08-27-2012 04:12 PM

Though in season 3, at least at the beginning Michael and Justin were in bad terms..

I would read Rage since I used to be addicted to yaoi(boy's love) mangas esp. Love Mode and Junjou Romantica...:D

They were definitely friends in Season 5 to the point that they were exchanging recipes
