I think Brian wants Justin to be different than him, he wants him to rely on people, to have an easier life than he does, as much as it's possible. That's why sometimes he gives him some advice he himself isn't able to take.

I think the fact he wanted Justin to have a better life and to be the best he could be ment that he really cared about him.

He really did it was very evident in several things he did. Especially in the first part of S2, he really helps Justin in a lot of things. I don't know if Justin would have been able to get back on his feet and start over without Brian's help, emotional and practical help.

that's exactly why I feel so bad for the both of them when things started going downhill for them ever since the Vermont lost weekend

It was so sad how they went downhill

Justin looks so disappointed when Brian tells him he can't go to Vermont. And then Brian is disappointed when he comes back to celebrate with Justin but Justin is not there. So much lack of communication there.

it's exactly what it was
I have to admit I liked the why Brian said he can't go away for the weekend because he wants to go for the whole week... __________________

I liked that too, as I like the way Justin jumps at him and kiss him. Unfortunately everything went to hell later.

Justin not being there when Brian said "your partner just made partner" was the saddest thing ever __________________

aww, that was so sad,esp since he used such a meaningful term he never used before and Justin wasn't there to hear it. I think at that point they were already losing each other.
as for titles, how about they all needed to know when to ask for help (I mean apart from BJ we had Micheal and Ben,Debbi and Vic, George and Emmet ,Ted and his website stuff and of course M/L,who always needed that ) __________________

Justin's never there when Brian make his big statements of love/caring etc. Especially in Season 2. It's depressing.
Actually that might be the only time I really felt sorry for Brian in this whole arc. When they tell him Justin went to Vermont alone... god, that was heartbreaking, his face, the disappointment, the realisation - and then the big news were unimportant. That was such a sad moment. And YES, a horrible lack of communication. They drove me crazy with their misunderstandings and disability to just TALK with each other. __________________

the sad thing was that there was no way for them to stop that emotional rollercoster. they kept hurting each other and nothing anyone tried to tell them could help at that point, because they were unable to see that for themselves, and than, after Justin met Ethan it was too late to fix things.
(until the reunion,obviously but that's for S3 ) __________________

Maybe they were left a bit too much on their own after the bashing. Dealing with the aftermath was difficult for the both of them and even though they did help each other, they were both involved in it so maybe it would have been useful for them to have some help from someone on the outside. But Brian and Justin do tend to live in their own world a lot.
I like the title Vered __________________
