That's his costume. It does look like it could be real though.

His look and the beard especially reminds me of Leo's character in the movie Django Unchained.

A pic for comparison:

He has to have a fake beard as George in Act 1, because in Act II he is George's great grandson who is clean shaven

Mark...the full beard like that is awful for anyone. I'm so glad it's fake.

That's true.

That type of beard was in fashion in those days, but when I see a young guy these days with a beard that long I always think ..why!?!

You can hear the radio interview with Randy at this link. Along the right side of the page it says: Latest Audio Clips. It's under that:

You're welcome! He does!

Another interview with Randy & co-star Erin Mackey. This one is 23 minutes long. Harrison and Mackey spoke with Classical MPR's John Birge about their artistic passion for Sondheim. And they sang the title song from the show, along with "Finishing the Hat" and "Move On."

I didn't want to post again so I'm including another link in this post. Here is an interview with Randy on the local talk show called "The Jason Show." :

Thanks for bringing that over here Mark

I especially like this part

But Harrison and Mackey anchor the musical with their heartfelt portrayals and beautiful vocals. Harrison, in particular, with his impressive vocal range and willingness to go-for-broke in showing us George’s obsessive focus on his art–“Finishing the Hat” comes to mind.

Another fine review

"Harrison is known from USA Network's "Mr. Robot" and Showtime's "Queer as Folk" and was seen last year as the Emcee in the national tour of Cabaret. He portrays George as a pent-up, obsessive artist, passionate about his work and nothing else. His full-bodied voice delivers a stirring "Finishing the Hat" and he has a field day impersonating two dogs having a conversation with each other in "The Day Off""
