Same scene, but Ted thinks Brian is going to compliment him, which in his own way was complimenting Ted.

I like how in that gif, Ted starts to approach him but kinda pulls back to brace himself for the brutal truth Brian is about to unleash. It's no secret that Brian rarely has filter and would not sugar coat his logic.

If it's a boss and only a boss it wouldn't be funny
 I wish Ted would see Brian for who he really was and Brian would see more in Ted before, it took years for their friendship to become real.  |
