Well technically Darkh said he wouldn't use magic and he didn't, his daughter did. Probably because he was losing.

Although that's when Nora called her the famous White Canary. I wonder what made her famous in Nora's future or Mallus and Darkh talk about her all time and Nora was sick of hearing about her.
