if DD goes past the year 2016...he'll know for sure that he didn't blow up the world and there's still the same and worse problems in the world

Well if DD wants to change his destiny, wouldn't he do things differently?

I mean if he lived pass 2016 that means he definitely has to do something different from what he originally did...
