Ooh wow I would have thought Twilight fans for TeenChoice would make it a total landslide but I'm glad MoS got some appreciation!

DVD/Blu-Ray isn't getting released until November. I liked it better when the rumor was October.

And can I say I'm not a fan of Ben Afflek's casting? I don't mean to be a Debbie-Downer, but it's just been disappointing news after disappointing news in regards to the sequel for me. *sigh* I guess I've got all this time to adjust my thinking and accept it all.

Mehhhh! i'll just wait and see with the whole MOS sequel... I'm not gonna jump the gun prematurely against Ben Affleck. i don't want to be like those Heath Ledger casting haters who judged the latter BEFORE even watching him playing joker in the The Dark Knight.... and we all know they ate a whole lot of heaping of crow after that movie was shown years ago when Heath delivered a phenomenal performance.. I'll just be totally chill about the MOS sequel until proven otherwise two years from now.

got this from DI:

Please vote for Man of Steel in this Yahoo poll:

http://movies.yahoo.com/summer-movie...medium=twitter

and by the way, MOS is currently leading on the "favorite summer movie" with :

Man of Steel" (2511 votes) -
23%

Sexiest summer stud:
Henry Cavill in "Man of Steel" (3491) -
46%

and Hottest summer romance:
Superman (Henry Cavill) and Lois Lane (Amy Adams) in "Man of Steel" (3071 votes) -
42%

very much like the LEVEL HEADED tweets of these people about the whole thing:

DCU Movie Page @dcumoviepage
But all this hatred that is already happening reminded me of Michael Keaton in the '80s, and we now consider Keaton's Bats classic.

Oh you guys are all so positive.

I had no idea people had problems with some of those casting choices listed. When I found out, I thought, they are amazing actors and totally have the acting chops to pull that off. I never had issues with any of those actors/actresses.

I've seen Ben Affleck as a superhero though. Didn't work for me, and that's why I'm so down about it. He's a great writer/director though. Wouldn't mind if he at some point did a little of that.

My whining aside, it's not like I'm not going to be there on opening night no matter what they do.

Glad to see MOS winning some of those polls. I loved that movie.

All I can say is people change and mature and years can make a person better and wiser . Affleck should be given same amount of chance no matter how surprising his casting choice was. that daredevil stint was years ago and should not be a basis on judging Ben affleck on his Batman role. I always have this motto in watching movies or evaluating an actor to "JUDGE IT/HIM/HER AFTER WATCHING IT/ HER/HIM ". I'll give an informed opinion on the sequel and on Affleck's performance AFTER I watch the sequel two years from now.

I'll admit Ben Affleck was terrible as DareDevil but I can actually picture him as Bruce Wayne so hopefully that won't be a disappointment.

Ben Affleck just came of a great award season. He is not the same guy that acted in Daredevil 10 years ago. he might very well surprise people two years from now with his performance on batman.

your post remind me of this tumblr post:

Ben Affleck just came of a fantastic award season…. Actually Ben pops up ever like 2nd year with award nods. He is not the same guy that acted in Daredevil (And let’s face it, Batman isn’t really going to be playing about, balancing on park see-saws with Catwoman)

Let us not forget people said that Christian Bale couldn’t play Batman, or forget his movie history of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and of course his dancing prancing “Newsies”, and he went on to not only play Batman but win an Oscar for The Fighter.

Or the hate the late Heath Ledger got for being cast as The Joker. I remember the haters going a little like “What that pretty boy from A Knights Tale that played the gay Cowboy? NEVER GONNA WORK! This movie is gonna suck” and it went on to be the first ever comic book based movie to get to $1 billion. And Heath won an Oscar for the role of The Joker.

Or the wonderful Amy Adams as Lois Lane “She has red hair, that is never gonna work!” And Amy walked away the highlight of the movie.

For goodness sake, the haters even said that Henry “f#@king Superman” Cavill was going to suck as Superman (have I established that the haters have no effing clue?)

Lets go to Marvel and the hate towards Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Chris Evans as Captain America. Yeah, all these fantastic actors can’t hear your hate over the billions of dollars they have accumulated. Billlllllllions!

Haters… Hate. They don’t really base their answers on a logical approach.

But I say this unbiasedly, that I think he[Affleck] is now at the right stage in his acting maturity to play Batman. And kick the roles a$$ and all you haters to the curb.

I called it it with Heath and Amy… And I’ll call it with Ben Affleck as well. I trust the film makers and the person behind all these calls… Ben is going to rock Batman like no ones business.

I am excited to see Superman and Batman take to the big screen, I wish they would have given it their own series of movies and left Man of Steel alone, but Warner Bros like to cling to Batman’s cape, so what to do.

I’m just going to sit back and thank God it wasn’t Orlando Bloom, and enjoy this movie when it comes out.
source:
The Dark Damsel - Ben Affleck as Batman I approve. Ben Affleck...

and yeah haters said that Michael Keaton was just a "comedian" and should not play batman and he will suck as batman during the late 1980's. and looking back now, he is much revered as Batman than clooney or kilmer. And keaton's Batman is considered a classic today and even many people even prefer his Batman than Christian Bale's version. all i'm trying to say is fanboys/fangirls always do harsh prejudging against a movie or actors and then mostly backtrack later when the movie is finally shown!

Okay I so stand behind that post!

And true, you can't base a performance off the past- that's kind of useless when people are constantly changing and improving their craft.

I'm betting Affleck will surprise us all just like the many people who have come before (all the people mentioned in that post- and let's not forget to add Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man; probably one of the top surprises of all).

Got this from DI.:

In light of the latest vitriol against Ben Affleck(and to the extend the MOS sequel), I want to share this very, very true post about the ridiculous hysteria of comic book movie fans:

Quote:
We are the greatest super-villains of all time.

We all need to calm down & take a deep breath. I’m not going to deny that I have some heated discussions and fervent opinions regarding comic book films but I’m noticing things around me and I don’t like what I see. As a comic book movie fan, I have to say that we are the most unfair, overly judgmental, narrow-minded, violent, relentlessly critical lot of individuals EVER. It’s hard for comic book movies to be successful or enjoyed anymore because of the bleeding heart fanatics who swear that they know what everyone wants to see, who should be cast in what role, and who should direct what film. We seem to be under the impression that we know what’s best & that we are capable of dictating how these fictional pieces of work should be delivered to the public.
Before films even make it to the big screen, they’re torn to shreds by the masses of people who thrive on bashing movies and their actors. YOU, the fans are the ones who make it hard for us other fans to enjoy these films. Have Marvel & DC always made excellent decisions regarding the making of their films? No. However, no matter what they do, they’re damned if they do & they’re damned if they don’t. There are always the people who consider themselves certified critics and experts on the source material. If you don’t like a film or the people cast in it, don’t go see it, don’t acknowledge it, don’t open your mouths. I’m not going to judge comic book movies anymore until AFTER I’ve seen them and all of the hard work people spend their lives putting into them! I won’t be one of you relentless fans anymore. We tend to forget that the film industry is a BUSINESS in which cinematic works are delivered to get audiences interested in various properties. Die hard comic book fans have been led to believe that movies have to meet their expectations and be made the way they envision them. New franchises, reboots, and versions of timeless characters emerge everyday which is a beautiful thing because there is literally a hero out there for everyone. Maybe we all have a different vision of Superman, Spider-Man, or various other characters but that doesn’t mean we have to scorch and discriminate against the versions that don’t line up with what we expect. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We can like what we like and dislike what we don’t. The issue is HOW we express those opinions. More often than not, extreme comic book fans scoff at every decision made by the studios without merit or without a solid and grounded reason.

This recent casting of Ben Affleck as Batman serves as a perfect example of how over-the-top fans can be and how they blow things entirely out of proportion. Really? A petition in the works to be submitted to Obama to ban Ben Affleck from playing the role? What’s next? Death threats? Who the hell do you guys think you are?! If you’re so vehemently against this film being made in the manner in which it is, GO MAKE YOUR OWN MOVIE! I’ll end my rant with this….Does anyone remember the reactions to Heath Ledger being cast as Joker in The Dark Knight?

So trueee, typical destructive fandom reactions!
