Episode Description
A man named Sylvester Pemberton tracks down Chloe (Allison Mack) and tells her he knows about her team of superheroes and needs their help. However, before he can explain who he is, he is attacked and killed by Icicle (guest star Wesley Macinnes). Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe's (Allison Mack) investigation leads Clark to the former headquarters of the Justice Society of America where he meets up with Nelson AKA Dr. Fate (guest star Brent Stait), Carter Hall AKA Hawkman (guest star Michael Shanks) and Courtney AKA Star Girl (guest star Britt Irvin). Courtney pleads with Hawkman and Dr. Fate to help her catch the killer that is targeting their group but they are reluctant to resume their duties as superheroes. Clark, John Jones (guest star Phil Morris), Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) and Chloe team up to help the JSA stop Icicle before he murders another member of the group. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) receives a package from a mysterious agency called Checkmate, run by Amanda Waller (guest star Pam Grier).

OMG, so can't wait for tonight! It's gonna be wickedly cool. And the upside is that I get to see this one on tv. Going home today (thank you Superbowl weekend!) My school doesn't have CW and I was so bummed that I would miss this one on actual tv. It's not the same seeing it online.

Omg the episode was really good my favorite part was were everyone together took down icicle. I especially loved Hawkman, Dr. fate, and Stargirl.

Tonight was probably one of my all-time favorite SV episodes. Everyone really delivered tonight.

First I want to say that I loved how well Clark, Ollie, and Chloe worked together. Lately one person or another has been snippy or trying to do everything on their own but tonight everyone got along and worked together as a team. It was nice change from all the tension.

The action was great from start to finish. Some really good fights tonight.

JSA characters especially Dr. Fate were great. Loved the GA/Hawkman banter. Dr. Fate telling Clark about Lex and him telling Lois her fate was awesome to hear. The little movie and nods to other JSA members was a nice touch.

The Checkmate/Suicide squad setup was really interesting. Amanda Waller seems like a badass and the twist at the end with Tess was a nice touch. Look forward to seeing how this all plays out. Lois/Waller scene was great too.

Martian Manhunter got his powers back! Loved him in the final fight and his chat with Chloe was nice.

The little Clois we got was cute.

There was some really cheesy dialouge in the episode but everything else more than made up for it.

I'll probably add more later but overall just a fantastic episode from start to finish and everyone really brought their A game.

MM is always good, unlike the dialogue which yeah, heavy on the Velveeta. I thought the action lagged at times.. too much movie montage, or talky talk. And Sheets must have a great agent to get that much screen time. Kidding. Word and there you have it folks, it was a much improved effort and dare I type it, entertaining. Even dragged me out of my lurking to post.
