up until like 3-4 years ago there never was a Chloe in Superman lore . they added her due to popularity of Smallville

Green Arrow you are talking about is from the cartoon Justice League ,with the goatee . They used Oliver Queen in this series differently . The origin was the same .But since there never was a Chloe and Green arrow cartoon was always with J/l or dinah . I believe and we will find out the bow and arrows was the little sons .

I am sure EW.com will have a post smallville interviews with producers to explain the ending etc .

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clois. They went above and beyond. I have been a fan of Clois since I was little and as far as Smallville goes since they brought Lois during season 4. Too many favorite scenes. Lois freaking out, Lois reading Clark's vows, their talk at the apartment and then Clark reading Lois' vows, their wedding. Damn they nearly said "I do" before the darkness ruined it. Excellent nod to the Superman Wedding Album with Clark walking Lois down the isle. Lois seeing Clark as Superman for the first time was awesome.

I seriously loved the whole Superman/Lois/Plane storyline. That is a classic story in the Superman mythos and they really pulled it off.

And then we got to see them on their way to the altar much time later.

Clark. So Smallville finally became Superman. I can't believe it. It was a major hope to be sure but to see it actually happen was beyond what I could have ever dreamed! Tom totally fit the suit, we knew he would.

Seeing him finally fly for the first time was incredible and the way he pushed Darkseid Lionel was awesome. I cheered and raised my hands in victory when I saw that.

One of the best moments was seeing his history. It was very bittersweet and brought me to tears. We've been on this journey with Clark for 10 years so to see him finally become the man we knew he was destined to be was,- there are no words to be honest.

And how great was it to see that Johnathan presented Clark with the suit?!

Chloe. She is now forever ingrained in the mythos. There are so many fanfic possibilities for her especially since she and Ollie had a son. I loved how Chloe told her son the story of Superman. Chloe became part of the mythos the second we first met her but to have her apart of Clarks' life years later is just a fantastic thing.

Tess. I was heartbroken to see her die. I had my own theories that she would die at the hands of Lex as he had done with their father and sure enough. She was amazing though, she found redemption in the end, she became a martyr for the cause. Making Lex loose his memories was the best thing she ever could have done for the team.

Lex. And so our prodigal son returned. His scenes with Clark were amazing as were his scenes with Tess. The best part for him was seeing his memories as they were being erased. Out of all the villians in Superman's life, Lex is by far the top dog. And we saw him become the president which was a great nod to the mythos.

The Kents. I couldn't believe that scene we had in the barn with Clark, Jonathan and Martha. It was beautiful. I loved having Jonathan back especially. Even in death his prescence is highly felt.

The Darkness. One of the coolest stories on this show. We finally got to see it all come to a head and I loved how it was Ollie who eliminated Darkseid's minions. That planet/eclipse was down right insane.

Final Thoughts. I am so glad I stayed spoiler free for this episode. It went above and beyond every expectation I had. It didn't feel like I was watching Smallville/a tv show, it felt like I was watching a movie. If Smallville could pull of this vibe, now my expectations are high for the new MoS movie due out next year.

To our beloved cast and crew: Thanks for letting us fly with you these past 10 years. There have been ups and there have been downs but you gave us a finale worth watching and I will never forget it. I will never forget the time I've spent and the countless hours because each one has been worth it. It's been a great ride and while I'm sad to see it end, it has been an honor getting to walk this journey with Clark and his family and friends. You all will always carry a special place in my heart. My Torch will never burn out. Thank you.

THIS SHOW!!
I can't believe it.
This show has been a part of my life for 10 years and that finale was just everything I imagined. I seriously loved every bit of it, I wasn't spoiled on it and I couldn't have been happier about that.

I liked the finale and I like Oliver/Chloe but I was always a Chlark shipper at heart *sigh*. Smallville is so different from the show I started watching 10 years ago but it is what it is and the finale was ok. It ran like 4 seasons too many & I just can never think of this Lois Lane as THE Lois Lane but

First off thank you cast and crew, esp Tom. Ive watched the show since day 1 and I am so sad the show is over.

I give it a 7/10 where, I agree, one shot of clark in full costume didn’t seem too much to ask. I am still scratching my head over that one since they’ve been teasing the suit since season 9. Second was the anti-climactic fight with Darkseid and the quick resolutions with all the villains. 10 years of build up and the fights weren’t really fights so it was sort of contradictory that this was supposed to be the BIG thing that allows clark to fully embrace his destiny.

The whole wedding should’ve been last episode with the end being Chloe flicking the ring away and Oliver’s eyes black because last week felt so much like a filler now that I seen the finale and we could’ve devoted more time to better fights, instead of the very quick ones we got. With that said, I thought everything about the wedding was really well done, emotionally gripping and very touching. I really felt like these two are in love and you were really rooting for them. I felt the fight with Ollie was too quick. Wish there was a little conversation bout Ollie having the omega and how Chloe reacted to the whole thing. Instead it was all just brushed aside and Chloe left to go to star city, not sure why, I’d rather just have her stay with Martha. I was expecting Chloe to come back in present time not back in the flash-forward.

Everything with Clark and his parents and Jor-el was so great. Jonathan had a big role tonight as the voice of clark and I was very moved by the last show of the Kent family all together. I think the most poignant moment of the episode was when jor-el reminded clark that his powers come from his kyrptonian side but it’s his parents and friends who made him a hero and then jonathan saying to never forget smallville, that really pulled at the strings and the past 10 years flashed in my mind.

Lex, I’m half and half. I did like how they showed him with no memory, it makes sense even though that in itself created some plot holes, happy/sad tess died, I think that was fitting. The scene with clark and lex felt more like they needed to have that scene because lex is in this episode. But I did like that they open lex back up to being the villain for superman. I did love how clark said “I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.”

I didn’t mind the flashforward and little ollie was adorable. I thought the last shots of the planet with jimmy and perry and president elect lex and clark running was the perfect way to end the show, as it was not closure but a beginning and we are left wondering in our minds how a season 11 would’ve played out.

I may be one of the few but I wish they brought lana back this season, even in this finale. Seeing her in the flashbacks remind us how big of a character she is even thought clark was meant to be with lois the whole time. I think a quick scene of lana popping in with her congratulating clark for marrying lois and being happy for him would’ve been nice. Again the anti-climactic fight was a bit troubling. Clark needed to be superman so people can see the hero and have their “light” to look to but we never go to see any of that and we never got to see Clark come down to earth to see how people reacted to him in the suit, as well as him announcing his name as superman, instead of chloe randomly saying it at the end.

For me, I would’ve rated it a 10 if they just showed tom in that damn suit, have the fight at least a little longer (clark with lionel, ollie shooting the arrows was too easy, and we didn’t even see clark pushing the planet away), Chloe leaving to star city didn’t make any sense, and show clark announcing himself as superman.

Id give it a 11 if they had lana make a quick appearance.

Overall, 7/10, disappointed at parts while touched in others. The ironic thing is that the big pay-outs visually didn’t happen (epic fight and more importantly Clark in the suit,) while the emotional stuff with clark and lois and his parents, jor-el worked, like made me really sad, pulled at my heart good.Tom Welling, thank you so much. While you looked the part since season 1, i had some doubts about the acting early on but this past season, i tip my hat to you. Thank you doesn't seem fitting for the dedication you've put in these past 10 years. Thank you thank you thank you.

Amazing, amazing, epic, mind-blowing, life-changing (ish), genius fricking episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Exactly how I wanted it to end, with the John Williams theme and the suit and everything in continuity and ahhh just amazing. I'm so upset it's over. So upset. Perfect episode, I couldn't have imagined it better. The wedding, Lex's return, Tess's death , the end with Perry and Jimmy... SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen the finale but I did manage to watch the last 30 minutes and it was epic and I cheered when they did the iconic moment where Clark opens his shirt to reveal the superman logo! Is it me or did the superman/Lois/plane remind anyone of the plane scene in the remake of superman starring brandon routh?

I need to watch this episode!

The plane sequence totally had the SR feel to it. Despite how bad that movie was they gave homage to every bit of the Superman mythos which was awesome.

Watching the finale now, Martha is here They're fighting about Clark selling the farm... that kind of confuses me

ETA: What a way to end the series! Wonderful, I absolutely loved it. I'll come back when I'm more coherent...

^Likewise. This is one ep that I'm actually going to have to sit down and write a review for. It probably won't be as long as my reviews of the past but I think it may be pretty lengthy.

I plan to update my review as well. There were so many great lines so I couldn't write 'em. I look forward to going back and watching this episode.

Also got an episode video planned.

My mom asked me how I was this morning and I told her I was sad. Just talking outloud about it makes me cry but at the same time I feel a sense of pride.

I've seen tons of series finale episodes but nothing can compare to the way Smallville went out.

I loved the episode, especially the last hour. So it seemed Lois and Clark didn't finish their wedding and 7 years later something always comes up that is more important. I love the humor there It was so great to see so much of Jonathan the father/son bond. I felt bad for Tess but she did get her redemption when she erased the evil from Lex. So he goes on to be president, interesting
I loved the Chloe and son storyline, that was so cute. I will so miss this show, I have seen every episode mostly because I think Tom Welling is the perfect guy to play Superman. I could see this show going on and on if they wanted. Goodbye Smallville, its been 10 great years

Last year I had ot series finale my favorite show, see my mod board. 24 and Lost one was 100% great heartbreaking and end of 9 years of 24.. other was LOST strange ending adding more questions then answers . With there budget ,I felt they perhaps could have gotten more with special effects . Had onme major sponsor . Wpould have preferred ot see up close Superman clark with the planet in his hands above his head toss it ,then fly over Metropolis as the new Hero . So much was taken form the first two Superman movies but i am glad .

Great finale review, with hints of a possible movie or spin off ?
