Also there's this scene in 3x19: "Memoria" of Lionel with Lex... won't say which scene because I don't want to spoil much, but he was having this speech with Lex after a sad situation and they said that John Glover didn't have a script, he just thought it up himself.

After the episode, I listened to the commentary. That's how I found it. It just shows how brilliant of an actor, he is.

Oh that's amazing that John winged that he did it himself and it wasn't scripted - those non scripted scenes when they happen anywhere on any show are always EPIC scenes

I agree, and it shows how much confidence the staff has in the actor. It's gotta be sort of an honor.

^ Thank goodness they did that. He was really the first even character the show ever had... everything evil Lex learnt is from Lionel.

Oh interesting I don't hate him within these first 3 seasons - though am about him drugging Lex and all but the end when we find out about that disease. The last scene when he had the gun and all was just
