I know It's almost exactly the same, aside from Clark and Kara being cousins of course. It's interesting that both Lana and Kara turned to Lex.

Yes! for those first 2 episodes of season 7, she brought some goodness back into Lex's life.

Yup, he was reporting what was going on with Lana and who saved him. He was on his A game to start the season off.
