Smallville 3x19 "Memoria" Episode Discussion
3x19 - "Memoria" Believing that key information about his father’s past was lost when his memory was erased, Lex decides to join an experimental program with Dr. Garner to regain the information so he can turn his father over to the FBI. Knowing that Lex will discover his secret if he regains his memory, Clark tries to stop him but is caught by Lionel and the doctor and exposed to the same radical treatment so that Lionel can solve the mystery of Clark’s past. __________________

I'm excited about this episode...or any Lex centered episode. Michael is just a terrific Lex. As a dark angel fan...it'll be cool to see Martin Cummins on Smallville...but every time that someone addresses him as anything else than "Agent White"...it's still weird

Random thoughts:
Wow, I wanted to hug little Lex...poor baby. I would have come to his birthday party. What a good little actor he was. When he smiled, it made me smile. "I can't understand why my best friend keeps lying to me." Sound like what Chloe said last week? Yep. How very hypocritical of Clark to think Lex should be completely open with him when he's not willing to do the same. You know, if it was Chloe following people around to see what they're doing, she'd be called nosy, and evil, and backstabbing. Clark comes out looking like a caring friend. It isn't fair the things superheroes get away with. LOVED Lionel calling Clark out. Everything he said was true. Mionel! Did you see the chemistry? That was *so* unresolved sexual tension. Johnathan should just kick the bucket so we can get some more yummy Mionel scenes. "Strip him" are lovely words when applied to Tom Welling. Oh to be the orderly person who got to take off that belt. Nakey, jitterry Clark is yum. Kryptonite baths can NOT be good for a person. You'd think Lex would have some kind of fun powers if he'd had several sessions of them. God, Clark is a ginormous jerk. "Why does your father hate you so much?" Who says that to their "friend"? I'm glad Chloe wasn't in this episode, I wouldn't want to see her being a friend to someone who doesn't deserve it. In their effort to squeeze Lana into the episode, they put her where she didn't belong. Why was she in the mansion, does she just have free reign to come and go as she pleases? I love Lionel forever and always. That's all. Wonderful scene with Lex at the end. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting Martha be the one to walk up those barn steps. I would have killed someone if they tacked on a Clana scene. Oh, sniffles, that was the best ending scene ever. Made me teary. Overall: Wow. That was an AMAZING episode. For me to say that about an episode that didn't have Chloe is pretty big. Aside from the aforementioned unneeded Lana scene (especially the scarred heart reference-oh please), it was a perfect episode. Every scene was needed, none lagged. Great job, ptb!! __________________

This ep. was definitely one of the better ones this season. It was interesting to learn alittle bit about Lex's past. The actor who played young Lex did an excellent job. It was interesting to look back on the death of his brother and find out that his mother killed Julian and that Lionel blamed Lex all these years. When Lionel wanted to embrace Lex in the end and Lex pushed him away, part of me cheered and the other half said that he is finally giving you what you always wanted, seize the moment. Although, I am not totally sure that things would have been different between Lionel and Lex if the truth had been known sooner.
As for Clark. What can I say. For someone that likes to protect his secret he has a hard way of showing it. Why does he constantly put himself in Lionel's path. He knows Lionel is out to get him and the first person he goes to about Lex is Lionel. The second he realized Lex was going through memory retrieval techniques a little bell should have gone off in his head that said this whole thing is going to come back and bit me in the ass. One good thing that did come out of it is that he remembered his mother. This ep. was very well done. You can't fail with barely dressed men. I am definitely looking forward to next week when John Schneider makes his directorial debut on Smallville. __________________

This episode was really good! I love every moment of it!
I was about to cry when nobody showed up for Lex's 12th b-day. God, that was sad. I would of shown up. I love Lex and I love this episode! |

well done all around. but very dark.
It would be definite emmy material, except any literature or film or other art form with teen protaganists is almost never taken seriously by the critics. [ 04-28-2004: Message edited shapeshifter ] |

This show had raw emotion as well as tying up the Lex Lionel storyline about there past.
So hopefully all the Woman got there Tom Welling 3/4 naked thrill this week. Why not Lana ???: It was fast paced as well as setting up for what is too come in the next three weeks ! Go To the spoiler page about a certain Smallville character leaving the show ! __________________

Well, I could write what I think but I'd just be reiterating everything Candygirl said. So if anyone cares what I think, go back and read her post.

This was a great episode. One of the best acting episodes that I've seen on the show so far in it's three years of existance. I didn't miss the fact that Chloe/Pete and other characters weren't in the episode. Michael is a very talented actor and his portrayal of Lex Luthor growns on me with every episode. The kid who played "young lex" was also pretty good. Overall it's great to see them explain Lex's past, his hurts...and the scenes with Lex/Lionel were extremely well written and again the acting was great. I didn't like Lana being in this episode...it kind of killed the mood in the beginning. The ending was great...and yes I'm with Candygirl on this...it was a relief to not have another loft ending scene with Lana/Clark. Martha being there instead made this a terrific all around episode. I'm starting to really believe in the writers and the direction that the show is going...let's hope that the last few episodes won't disappoint __________________

Lana really had no place in this. She must have it in her contract that she has to appear in every episode.

I am really impressed here in the England with the acting so far.. but I have to ask... That almost made me cry. Best scene ever. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting Martha be the one to walk up those barn steps. I would have killed someone if they tacked on a Clana scene. Oh, sniffles, that was the best ending scene ever. Made me teary. What was Martha walking in on here.. ???? I have to know anyone fancy either emailing me or Pm'd me. I just can't wait to find out.. was it a Lana/Clark scene or what In anticipation of a response... Katie- Heh, they ARE OTP! So very doing it! Crossbow- I think you're right. As one of the stars, I think KK must have some kind of clause that says she has to appear in every episode. I agree that Lana wasn't needed at all in this episode. __________________

OMG...right on...and yeah we appreciated the change very much I think it's the WB's promotion with Clark, Lex and Lana on all the posters and such...so even though she wasn't needed they had to throw her in with some kind of a scene to be able to justify all the promo stuff for her at the WB. __________________
